New Updates?
Is there a new software update from BMW for the 128? I had my car in a year and some change ago and had it updated, but it ended up really screwing my car... (white noise, more delay in acceleration, etc....) Have they fixed these issues with a new update recently?

Do you have an automatic? Maybe that required some specific programming?

I had my car serviced in February, the software was updated.
I think I noticed a slight increase in fuel economy( extra 30-40 km per tank), perhaps at the cost of aggressiveness. I am unsure because I haven't had the car long enough and the economy increase could have been just me easing off the gas pedal with the high gas prices.

I had my Alarm retrofitted
They connected the computer and waited for a software update before they could activate the alarm or do anything.. The service record should have a software # somewhere printed on it.

The alarm is 1hour labour.
But there were issues: car did not recognize the siren from e82( the black hockey puck cylinder thing in the wheel well) the car was demanding an e9x siren This can be over written, if this happens to you demand they put in a PUMA case and seek the master tech's help in BMW USA offices I didnt know better and just had no time with university exams/job interviews and bought the e9x siren and have an e82 siren left over. Also not being in the USA, the kit was not under warranty so had no choice. total cost was 1 hour + e9x siren + 0.3hour labour to swap siren If you wish you can piece together the kit( the bolts/brackets, interior roof module, siren). I will sell you the siren to complete it. Overall, could be cheaper than the kit,if you find the module for fair price

Ive had a few updates. The only way I know however is that when I disengage DSC, the logo in the cluster used to be a triangle with a looped arrow going around it. then they changed it to a picture of a car's rear tyres breaking loose, and last month it went back to the triangle with the ! in it. This was obviously all after being in the shop for service.
