I just booked my 1er in at North Shore BMW to have a couple of tar(?) marks on my bootlid looked in to - I said I don't remember them being there before my service week before last. They said they'll give me a loaner (because I've "been inconvenienced so much already")... wonder if it's for free

No cost, just an easy deal!
Ahh you listened to me eh Alex ?

Deal with Ben Turner there, he is a decent, and youngish guy. Always been helpful to me. So far i have had 3 loaner cars, ranging from 325 sedans, coupes and even a PoS 320i petrol. But all cars were new, with less then 200km on the clock and i enjoyed putting at least 800km on every single one of them at zero cost. Didn't even have to pay for the petrol LOL

Haha no worries mate I'm sure it's not all the cars. It's the first BMW we've had so many major problems with.

Sounds sweet, you might've scored a freebie there. On the sheet they make you sign there were two options clearly marked:

Warranty service: $20/day; Retail service: $40/day. The one I signed was crossed out for both. If they ask for your credit card when you arrive then...

Indeed I did - Ben was fantastic. Called me after booking it in online and said no loaners were available for a few weeks, so reschuled me so i could get a loaner. The 330d had 240km on the clock and i racked up a good 120km that day.

And yes, the 330d had half a tank in it and returned with 1/3. Gave it a good hammering

Joe; do you care booking my car in for a service with your guy?!

I took the 123d coupe loaner they gave me for a good thrashing yesterday. Gosford back to Sydney along Old Pacific. I reckon I averaged a higher speed then if I went down the F3

The torque on the 2.0L TT is amazing, out of corners it gives quite a similar feeling to the 135i. All the while average 7.2L/100km.

Take car on OPH at the moment. Following the recent double fatality when an MX-5 collided head-on with a truck near Cowan (yes, I knew the driver), the police are out in force even more than usual. They're even warning off anyone who as much as looks like they might be enjoying themselves.

I saw that sad accident on the MX5 forums. Pure tragedy.

Yep I'm aware of this, I had acquaintances with the two guys who were in that accident. Coppers usually hit OPH hard on Friday and Saturday nights, when I drove it was 12:30pm and completely deserted.

I passed at least 3 bikes heading the opposite direction who were absolutely going for it.

How is the z4 Zuzu? I was looking at them the other day I think they're a great looking car.

I got my rear lights done the other day and Col crafword gave me a loaner for free. I would have blown up if they'd charged me so glad they didn't ask. Was a 120 which is horrible but I don't care as long as I can drive.

As far as looks go they are HOT with roof on and HOTTER with the roof off.

Once you get used to the long hood and low driving position they are a great car to drive. Totally different driving experience than the 1er..If it wasnt for just being a 2 seater I would seriously consider in the twin turbo..

Absolute head turner, to the point I had one couple walk up and ask if they could take a pix..Considering it was BSM it looked awesome..

Unfortunately I only had the 3.0 ltr non turbo which was still plenty of power.

Actually yes..

I book the car through the service department, then the day before I go in, I ring up the dealer and ask for a decent car..

They always have a couple of nice cars in the service fleet. Being on good terms with the SA helps a lot
