Year of the One?

Hey, I just bought a 2009 135i, taking delivery today at 10am. I have verified that it is a 2009 model built in November of 2008. It however has the "Year One of the One" stenciled into the ring around the start-stop button. I thought this was just on 2008 models in the US. Is it just a matter of it being a left over part that was put on some of the early '09's? This one is used, but only has 4K miles on it.

Thanks!

-Jeff

I think they put Year 1 of the 1 or whatever on all 2008 models as well as models built in the year 2008 since it was still technically the first "year" despite it not being the first model year. IIRC...

Oh, weren't you the guy with that wicked cobra? what became of that :P

Awesome! Thanks guys! That is what I figured the deal was.

Yeah, I finally sold the '04 cobra. I was able to get $27,500 out of it which made for a very nice down payment ;-) Not bad considering I only paid $28K for it right off the showroom floor in 2004. But I did have about $15K in mods thrown at it, however nearly $8K of those mods were vendor/sponsor donated.

Haha! Nah. It was just time to move on to something more refined. I am just not as in to the muscle car craze as I used to be. And these little 1ers are awesome!

Well, the wheels should be in tomorrow. The gloss 135i shadow numbers should be here today or tomorrow, and I have a few other things under my belt too. I still have about $3,000 worth of test parts and other things for the cobra that I am trying to sell. That will fund my 1er adventure.

Jeff,

I didn't know that was you until I saw the HISSMAN name. I really enjoyed your cobra buildup over the years on svtperformance.com. I sold my 2003 Cobra and bought a 2008 135i new a few years ago. They are great cars and Im sure you will love it.

Welcome to 1addicts

Brian

Congrats on the 1er, a Year One in fact. I thought the same too when I saw mine. Its a September 2008 build. Did they give you the book that is supposed to come with it?

No book. I did get all of the other standard docs, but not the book.

It's a faxctory designation. Your '09 was probably built in '08.

A quick iphone pic outside of my office. I got the Matte Gray Breyton GTS-R's on last night. They are wrapped in 225/255 Hankooks. I am going to do a full on HDR photoshoot as soon as the remaining parts arrive. Splitter, Matte Black grill, JB3.
