If you do not own an iPhone....
For those of us who are fortunate enough not to own an iPhone, it is hard to find a spot where to actually put our alternative communication devices given the location of the power point in the 1M. Here is my solution to the problem. Works well for me. Some drilling ,epoxying and adjusting required......

I plug an old ipod into the USB And stow it under the armrest in the convenient velcro-ed storage pouch. That's my music.
Otherwise, doesn't matter what phone your;ve got, I store it in the tray under that radio/HVAC. Are you streaming internet radio or something via your phone? |

Mini cup holders and such work just as well. It is just something that works for me for a couple of reasons.... I do not like anything that is not secured inside my car and could potentially fly all over under the right or wrong circumstances . I do not have Nav package and when I must to use the Nav in my phone that is the only place that works for me.
Thanks for the replies though. P.S. Dan... I am a big fan ,read your posts all the time. Last edited by Cossac; 08-24-2012 at 10:08 PM.. |

I bought a case for my iPhone which has a built in magnet (Rokform). I then pulled my center console out and epoxied another "rare earth" magnet to the back of my center console. End result, I can attach my phone just below the climate controls. I also ran an iPod cable through my arm rest area towards the phone. It's all hidden and I can tuck the 3 inches of cable away underneath the center console if I want to hide it.

so how does this connect to the cupholder, could it be done without the epoxy (that I find hard to get clean results with). Can you pls post a detail pic on that? |
