2011 335is vs 08 m3
I have a 09 135i m package paddle shift. I really gotta get back into manual. My dealer had a 2011 335is black on red 6speed for $48k Canadian with 20000km and full covered warranty til 2016. Or should I wait for them to find me a 2008 m3 for the same price but hardly any warranty? What should I do?

would depend on the miles on the m3 for me. if it had 10k miles i wouldn't care about warranty, if it had more then i would either go for a newer m3, a CPO m3, or the 335is they have on lot.

I would go with a CPO M3! You would get the extended warranty with it which would bring peace of mind.
But like Black Sheep said only you can answer that but from the input we give it may help in your decision. Just make sure you get what YOU want. Looks like you did not get what you wanted with your paddle shifters. I am on BMW #5 and never regret any of those decision about the car, I always get the MT even though the SMG then the DCT try to pull me in.

whats the condition of the m3?
Any pix? if i had a choice like that id always take the faster car haha. Even if it gives me more trouble's because its older. But damn the warranty on the bmw 335i is good to have hmmmmm. Both looks great! The 335i is vlippen fast aswell and easy to tune and good fuel millage over the M3. i guess it depends which one gives you the wow factor. if i had to choose between a 135i and a 1m even if the 1m was shyt high in millage and old with no warranty id still take it because thats what my heart desires :P.

It makes 20K miles, not 16. But that mileage is nothing for a well used E9X M3.

The M3 should feel significantly MORE stiff compared to the 135i. Maybe they swapped out the RFTs on the M3 and you're still riding on those hockey pucks in the 1er.
Also, dealers tend to know absolutely nothing about the cars they're selling. I'm not sure if this is out of convenience or just stupidity. I was shopping RS4s prior to getting my S4 and I had two different salesmen tell me that carbon buildup is not an issue on the RS4. I told them it was scary how little they knew and hung up.

Also, I wouldn't get any nav equipped car with a pre-2009 build date. The system is a dinosaur until 09.

My brother has a 2009 M3. His steering is very light compared to my 2011 135i. No idea how the 335is steering feels. I am personally a fan of a heavier feel. I recently drove a new 328i and the steering was waaaaay too light. Could parallel park with a pinky.

I came from a 335i to a 135i. The 335i was not the 'iS' but it was Cobb tuned and PE'd. Lovely car to cruise in but needed modding suspension wise to get it to be a fun drivers car, I actually traded for a 135i to get back that drivers car feel and besides the slightly uglier looks of the 135i I haven't looked back.
Basically what I am saying is that by buying a 335iS you aren't trading up in terms of performance but in terms of interior feel and ride comfort it's an improvement. What'ya want from a car really? Even though FBO 135i is faster than M3 i'd have no question about a trade for a good low miler, it's ///M after all |
