just wanted to see if anyone would want to swap interior seats front and rear and door panels. i have the black sport leatherete non power and non heated that are in perfect condition not a blemish and want the red, brown, or tan leather, sport or not. i'm in las vegas and would pay all labor to have the swap done. so if you want a sport interior and didn't get that option this may not be a bad choice, and if you want the leatherette and we swap sport for sport i will include some $$$ also. just throwing this out there, i know its a little off the wall. thanks ray

i should of ordered what i wanted instead of settling for what they had when i got the car. i do love the sport seats though but love the red interior more.

damn I'd love to swap for some terra or oyster sports (i have black sport leather). GL, just remember your seats WILL NOT work in anything made after 2009 because of active head restraints.

you will want to specify if your seats are power or not as you will need a car with power seats if you already have power seats. the person receiving non power can have seats that are stock set up for power but the person receiving power seats must have a car wired for them- other than that I have done the seat swap and it is very, very easy.

my seats are the sport non power. i belive the only thing that is power are the side bolsters.

yep and thats easily tapped into from the fuses if the new owner doesn't have any power so thats not an issue. Its just the active head restraints. If a 2009 or newer car that has them gets seats that don't it throws massive codes.

i'm sure someone with a 128 or 135 without the sport package will all over this. It makes no difference to me if the seats i recive are power or not. I'm sure i can wire them in but non power seats would be the easiest. Not sure if i will be able to find someone local (las vegas) or some one that would be willing to come down from cali. Worst case senario is I can get the oem leather and just swap the skins.

Power isn't the issue though. Its the head restraints which were changed in 2009 and are standard (i believe on the 1s as well as the 3s for sure). What I'm trying to say is you need to investigate to find out because if someone with an 09 or newer wants um yours will not work properly in their car unless the get the OC3 sim or something.

you're right with the head restraints BUT I think that all 1ers in the US had the head restraints, even the 08s because as we all know- the head rests, even in the 08s do not adjust back and forth- just up and down, where as the 3s in 08- which share the same basic seats, did do that. I am pretty sure 08+ 1s all have the head restraints but you will want to confirm that

i wouldnt swap sport for non-sport just for color. big mistake.

The main reason other than color is I want leather vs the leatherette. I would prefer the sport but I don't think anyone would swap leather sports for leatherette sports. I know you guys think I'm nuts!!! Pricedout the oem leatherskins installed will be over 3500. At that point you spend an extra grand and get the BMW performance. Would there be a good alternative to oem. I know aftermarket leather looks very cheap ino. What do you guys think of taking it to a upolstery shop and doing a alcantara or a cloth in the center (I think the old e30 m cloth would look hot if I could find some).

I think you'd be surprised at the number of avid leatherette folks in the BMW community, that said, most of them order it from the factory with leatherette- good luck!
