Wanting to trade someone aftermarket non cat downpipes for my OEM downpipes off a N54. Be willing to consider paying for shipping. Yeah I know. Got a better chance of wining the lottery. Never hurts to ask.

Hahaha. Hope this works for one of us. Come on lease ending and a desperate need for stock downpipes!

Hey, I did that. It was a great choice for me. N55s with DPs stink bad. I'll take clean exhaust, with no noticeable power drop, plus higher valued part any day. If I had one I would trade you.

Alright let's break this down. Feel like there's a whole lot of stupid clogging this thread, most of it just jokes. Give the dealer a call and see how much it costs for new catted downpipes. I'm going out on a limb here but I'm pretty sure it costs wwwwwwaaaayyyyy more than BMS downpipes which is what I really want. What if someone comes across a situation where they need to have stock downpipes on and they cant find them? I'm just trying to offer a solution to that person. I usually don't think that I could trade someone right off the bat. I figure there's got to be more people out there with my kind of thinking.

cats are warrantied till 80k miles or 10 yrs. doubtful you will find someone that didn't keep them. most people know precious metals are inside cats, and even more so in ours than cats on a mazda miata or something. it is highly highly unlikely that someone just threw them away.

you could always just get your cats gutted out.

i bet you'd be surprised how many people would just sell them or get rid of them. wife threw them away or something like that. and i think most people wouldn't know about precious metals. think about it, theres a whole lot of stupid out there. i'm usually one of them. i heard about the gutting but id rather have the aftermarket.

I Hope you're willing to add cash on top.

FWIW.....Most of the time OEM DP's sell for around $150
You're right, new ones are about $1000 each, however the market is flooded with used OEM ones.
So if I had a set of DP's and needed oem ones for what ever reason, I would buy a used set for $150ish and then sell mine for $300-$600 (depending on brand)
There would be no reason for me to loose $150-$450.

adding cash on top would kind of defeat the purpose of this thread. BMS has DP's for a little over $300, brand new. so if someone said to me they had dp's they were trying to get rid of because it had to be back to stock, for whatever reason, and they want $300 for them. its a no brainer. go buy the brand new ones. if i needed a stock intake and stock dp's badly and someone offered me both for my aftermarket used dp's , and paid for shipping, i'd probably do it to save time. but then again, i'm part of that ever growing stupid thats out there.

I think you will be better off getting dps from bms. I have ar downpipes and they weren't 300. Remember you get what you pay for. I initially ordered some cheaper dps and the welds and the metal was awful so that is why I went the route I went. Just my two cents.

Sell your DP's for $200 and then throw a little cash on top and get some catless downpipes.

I really do want BMS ones. I have the jb4 and its awesome. I was kinda figuring they have to make some really good downpipes to go with everything else they have. Just wouldn't expect poor quality from them. I'm probably going to end up just keeping everything. Just started this to see if anyone would even do this. If someone did, all the better. If not, no big deal.
