Is it mandatory to strap it down?

Seems like a bad idea not to if you're interested in longevity and not creating errors. If you don't the wires could fatigue or the ballast could potentially interfere with the headlight function.

Installed them Friday, they are insanely bright, do not stare into them for more than a second at a time. I am serious, permanent vision loss will occur, I am not bs-ing. I almost feel sorry for oncoming traffic now.

They are however, exactly as described, very bright and the color shifting capability is very nice. I have mine set to 5200k and it as close as possible to 2012, 2013 eyebrow leds.

Can you post some pics please? Did you have the V3's prior?

Pictures won't do it justice, but I'll post a few when I get the chance.

They are reportedly ~20% brighter than the V3. When I stare into them for longer than a couple of seconds, when I look away, I see burnt halos in my sight. I won't ever be told my AE are too dim.

Installed as well. Set them at 6200 but a bit to blue. Bummer is that my adaptive light error came on. Where did you stuff the power supply as its bigger then the v3 so it won't fit in the same place that everyone was putting the v3 power supply.
p.s. insanely bright

Not to be picky but do the outer rings look a little too thin to anyone else?

It's the ring that came with the car.

I think he means how it looks illuminated from the pictures. How is the outer ring with this newest version.

About the same , as the outer ring is not as bright as the inner ring. Part of it is optics. When trying the different colors it seemed like the higher temp colors seemed to make the outer ring look thiner. On another note it could just be my imagination.

Head on, from 5+ feet away, all 4 halos look fantastic! Both the inner and outer halos are very bright and easily seen during the brightest of days. I am running 5200k, so I do not know if running 12k reduces the outer halo width, but I don't see why they would.

Glad to hear that everyone is happy with these lights. As mentioned above the outer ring will always be a dimmer and that is just the design of the headlights and there is no way to overcome with with a plug and play bulb. Thanks everyone for posting pictures as well and they look great. Glad to see everyone is happy with these.

Sorry it took awhile, on vacation. Here's a pic!

From head-on its very bright (passengerside), but due to the design of the halos themselves, the more angled you go, the more it seems like there is no light (driverside).

Hey Marc just wondering if these will still flicker when you initially start the vehicle?

We have designed them not to flicker during the bulb check startup. If the angel eyes Fade on/off then you will experience a bit of this flickering when they turn off.

Awesome! Now since LUX is no longer offering V3's customers to "trade up" are you going to be doing anything in terms of a discount for repeat customers?

I had to Velcro it on the back of the cover in a different place instead of where people were putting the V3. It just barely fit, but it did. Also when I went back in to reinstall I realized I had the lights set to 6900. Now that I have it at 6200 I like it a lot.

where exactly did you velcro it? also did you notice that it no longer flickers when starting?
