Got an email from COBB this morning stating that AccessPORT works again for the N55 with the ROM updates.

Now that's great news. I was dreading getting any kind of update once the airbag replacements were done by the dealer.

It's been a long wait...

Very good news...........

I know a lot of N55 cars BMW had updated their DME to the new software and made their COBB AP completely useless. What a nightmare that was.

A buddy of mine is giving me ATR since we are both running IJEOS. My question is will the program coming from his A/T still work on my M/T 135i?

Thank you

In the BMW world, is the ATR installer locked to the serial number of the AP it was requested for?

It's that way in the Mazdaspeed world, where I spent the last 9ish years.

There are some of us who have exchanged software with each other and we've discovered that the software seems to be tied in to both the ROM version and the serial number. But, if you manage to get the software installer for the ROM you have, that seems to work despite the serial number issue. This allows you to edit OTS maps and then transfer them to the AP for install.

I have the software for the 98G0B ROM and that installer worked for another member with the same ROM.

Excellent! I appreciate the solid response! I'm going to try my luck later tonight and see how it goes

If it's the copy of the same ATR that was registered to the AP, and same ROM, then yes it will work

For example. Bob got ATR for an AP with I8A0S ROM, then later Bob decided to sell his AP to a person with I8A0S, that person can use a copy of his ATR

However, if Bob sells his AP to a person with IJE0S, that person cannot use his ATR and he will be stuck with only using the COBB IJE0S OTS maps or have a Protuner make a map for him.

It doesn't appear so, but it would be best to contact COBB so they would best direct your how to check for this.

I am showing support ends with the 2012 135i N55 ROM 98G0B, however this might not be updated on their site.

When I had gotten my Z4 it wasn't on their site either and I needed to do a sfotware dump on the AP and send to COBB that took couple of days for them to send out an update. The 2016 Z4 still not on their site either and I know 100% the AP is compatible.

The only way 100% is to get an AP, if its not compatible then you can send it back to them for full refund.

So I was able to upload one of my maps onto my friends ATR to do some editing(both of us have IJE0S) but when a got the map back onto my accessport, the map is grayed out and saying the map is locked to his old accessports serial number. Any chance of anyone knowing a way around this or a way to unlock maps if possible? I knew taking maps from his accessport would not work on mine but I did not know using his ATR would lock my map onto his serial number.

That's the behavior I was asking about earlier-

Just keep the map handy and when Cobb makes ATR available again you can just open & resave the map in your ATR so the map learns your serial number.

If you got your AP used, and can still contact the previous owner, you should ask if they ever got a copy of ATR, and if they did maybe they can send you a copy of the installer. Otherwise you will likely have to jump through the new process Cobb is implementing- paying for a training class and testing before you can get your "free" software. Or, alternatively, you can pay a "Pro-Tuner" to do your tuning instead.

I can unlock and then lock the map to your AccessPort serial so that you may be able to use it only on your AccessPort. However its gonna cost you.

Also, I wouldnt suggest running e85 on a 91 oct map. Its going to lean the car out. Save your e85 for your e30 map.

Make sure before running an e30 map, you start with a near completely empty tank. Add 70 gas then 30 perfect e85.
there is only one log that is concerning in regards to corrections.

The multiple cylinder corrections are all post shift and typically happen a lot, especially if it is DCT
