The auto in the 135/335i is a known great automatic trans. It's funny and interesting to me, however, how many auto trans owners still want that manual trans interaction. That's why many of us manual owners still get a true manual in our cars. |

Its a fantastic trans, but it wasnt my first choice. Although as a DD I think I prefer having the auto, LI traffic is just the worse. Its nice to be able to pop it into D during those times. |

It was poorly written sarcasm. I actually like my 1er, despite my issues.

Its not being mad at the car about the scratches. Its BMW and their carelessness handeling the car. There are PLENTY of people who get pissed off about dealerships scratching the shit out of their car. As for your back pack that makes sense. The car is supposed to notice that a child is in the seat and ding if the seatbelt is not on and turn off the airbag. It shouldnt turn off the airbag when a 110lb adult is in the car. Espescially since shes been in 4 other BMWs and the airbag does not turn off. Thanks for the input though. |

The airbag/seatbelt chime in the passenger seat is just ridiculous....the chime actually went off due to a 2 liter of diet Coke the other day....a 2 liter!!!
Some things about this car just drive me nuts....

mine went in yesterday for all it's rattles and issues (center taillight, hpfp, sunroof and armrest rattle) and so they have no loaners and I would have had to wait liek 30 min more or for $20 I could take the 535i with sport pack. so I did and I have fallen completely OUT of love with the 1er. I want a 535i now. car is so nice. I completely understand the whole big car picture now. It's fast but it still comfortable and handles and brakes great. and when it does go over bumps there are no rattles, NONE. just the nice solid but faint dampening noise there should be.

And it's also brand new. In another 5K miles it will make even more creaks than the 1- series considering it is less rigid.

true it's way more expensive, but it only has 2k miles less than my car (15k something on it) and it does feel more solid, though not more stable. I am looking at pre-owned 535is right now on the CPO site, considering my lease is up in September...

My 1 is very good I have to say, maybe I'm one of the lucky few, or you just had yours built on a Monday following a long Oktoberfest weekend. LOL I really can't compain, my Audi (which is known for great interior work) is creaking, but then again a stiffer suspension will bring more noises out.

haha snowflake gong scared the SH*T out of me driving home early AM from tahoe last summer. going 85+ at 4-5am in eastern nevada, nobody on the road and it gongs, as to teh others, I totally know they are different and this phase will probably wear off as I love the performance of my 1, but a taste of something different is nice, especially given that I went e46 to e82 so the overall driving feel that i've had for the past 4.5 years has been basically the same

I've never owned an automatic, so it's hard for me to say, but I have imagined myself sitting in traffic and not having to shift before. I usually drive my GF's car when we go out and we're not using my car. It's an automatic and easier to drive in traffic...brake, gas, brake, gas, brake gas...

1. Wind noise around the frameless windows at speeds above 110 mph.
2. Factory subwoofers do not do the job. 3. The "are you seriously going to chime until I loose my mind" passenger seat belt GONG. 4. It seems like the reach to the seatbelt gets farther behind my shoulder every day. 5. Winter tires. I cannot buy cheap steel wheels for the winter, and the rubber ain't cheap. 6. I am 6 payments away from being a 135i owner; my dreams involve a 2011 5-series. I am a consumer, and I hate me for it. I wish that my 1 was good enough for me.

Im in favor that the Gong has to go or be toned waaaaay down. I hope Bmw is in here listening and taking notes. Give us a gong button on the ashtray area so we can turn off the F-ing Gong noises......
