A 245-35-R18 tire can be mounted on an 8" wheel, but the tire company websites that I just scanned all recommend an 8.5" wheel.
So, I too would say no.

235 size tire will not work on that 7.5 wheel. You would need at least a 8" wheel to run that.
If you're looking to run fatter tires, you're going to have to run some aftermarket wheels first. |

At SCCA nationals this year, there were 135's with stock width wheels (7.5") that were running 275's on them in front. Strange, but true. The amount fo cross section getting to the pavement might not have been a whole heck of a lot though.
For daily use, I would not go beyond the recommended wheels width specifications. |

I've tried all 3 tires on 7.5'' wheels with Bridgestone, Falken, and Yokohama street tires and the 235's have been my favorite so far. They feel like the best compromise between contact patch and sidewall flex.
As Jurian mentioned, if you want to run wider tires your best bet is to get wider wheels to match. |

Depends on the sidewall aspect ratio. A taller tire has the room to be mounted on a narrower wheel, whereas a shorter tire cannot.
Your question was in relation to the stock tire size...but now changing the width, you don't say what height.

The OEM rear tires are actually 245/35/18; OEM wheel size is correct at 8.5x18. As other are saying, I highly recommend you running no more than 225/40/18 in the front and 255/35/18 in the rear.

just fyi, I ran a 245/40/18 on the stock 18x7.5 front wheels. It was a competetion tire and was intended for off-road use. I spent 4 days driving it on the streets as well and it was fine. Except that it looked buldgy and was higher than stocks. Will post pics once uploaded.
