Suggestions?
Hey guys,
I have owned my car for about two years now amd I am ready to go for a major suspension overhaul. The car is a daily drive with the occasional spirited driving in probably the worst roads you can possibly imagine. The reason for this overhaul is the fact that zi recently started hearing a couple of sounds and have isolated them to the front passenger side. The first sounds is a clunking when the car is cold and is transmitted all the way to the dash, as if I were putting an exorbitant amount of force on that side. This only happens over speed bumps at a really low speed. The second sound is a screeching faint sound from the passenger side everytime I brake, as if I had something stuck on the rotor (I checked, nothing) What do you guys recommend? I want to try to get everything done at the same time. Bushings Control Arms Struts Springs Etc. Any help and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I would start with a trip to a BMW mechanic (not necessarily a dealer, but someone who knows the E82 chassis) and have them test-drive the car and look at the suspension on a lift. I suspect you will have 1 or 2 bushings that need replacement. As mentioned, this is a perfect time to swap to M3 lower control arms for better steering response and a bit more negative camber.
As for the rest of your suspension, well, depends on your purpose. Springs don't really wear that much, but shocks definitely do. Especially with our bad roads here. Lastly, dude you are in PR! We should meet up!!!! Do you PS1G?

Have a look at the front strut mounts, rear upper and lower shock mounts as well.
