I have a 135is and I'm wanting to go with 255/35 in the rear on stock rims. When i go to tirerack.com, it's telling me that if I do that I'll need fender lip and linear modification to fit without rubbing. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the offset on the IS vs the I? Will it be safe to do this? Does anyone have experience with the upsize on stock rims of an IS?

The 135is has different rims though and I'm not sure if there is a different offset. Are you speaking from experience with a 135is or are you talking about a 135i?

Just curious on the 225/255 setup, hows the milage compare to the OEM run-flat?
and if I wanna go with the PS A/3, should I still go with the 225/255 set up or original?

Wonder how a 225/255 set-up on stock size wheels would work with the BMW Performance suspension? The suspension is supposed to lower the car 10mm. Anybody know if this would cause problems, like rubbing?

You will be fine.

I have MPSS 255/35 on the stock 135is rims.

I have the style 269 18' rims on my M-sport ...you think Ill be fine running 225/40/18 in the front and 255/35/18 in the rear? Just want to make sure I won't have any rubbing, etc.

Finally get rid of run flats and moving to a regular tire..thanks in advance!

You will love the smoother ride, but wil not be impressed by the stock soft rear subframe bushings designed for RunFlats.

The trick with tire fitment is to find one of the many tire/wheel size calculator (google it), and ensure you maintain close to the same full tire diameter, close to 25 inches if I recall correctly. The 225/40 will be slightly taller than the stock 215/40 fronts and 245/35 rears. Most fitment calculators will give you a warning on anything beyond -/+3% diameter...

Much appreciated! Looks like I'll be fine.

Do you advise getting new rear subframe bushings designed more for regular tires? Will just replacing the bushings be all that's needed?

Thanks!

There are several RSFB bushing options out there, ranging from inserts that fill the voids in the stock bushings, two piece units inserted from the top and bottom of the four corners of your subframe, and the ideal one piece units with various durometer or firmness.

The latter is labor intensive, and require a day of work, as the subframe has to come off ideally . The four bushings are reasonably priced. The popular choice is E92 M3 RFSB''s. I went with this option as a DIY, and it transformed the car. Bitch of a job though with improper tools...

Anyways, no need to go down this route, if you don't notice or can live with the washy and wiggling behavior of non runflats and stock RFSB 's...

Awesome, many thanks for the great info. I'll see how it rides with the new non RF tires and then go from there if needed. Thanks for the advice.
