Heated Seat Help

Hi,

My wife's 2009 128i (sport seats) driver side heated seat recently stopped working. All other electronics on the seat work fine. Passenger seat also works perfectly.

When you push the button, the three lights light up and immediately turn off. A click can be heard from under the seat. Intermittently I can get it to work by pressing the button over and over.

Based on what Internet research I've done, this isn't an uncommon problem however I've yet to read about a fix.

Any feedback or direction would be appreciated as BMW wants more than $1500+ to replace the whole lower section of the seat.

Sadly the car just came out of warranty and local dealers are refusing to consider a good will fix.

Cheers

I've seen heated seat covers you could buy if your can't find an economical fix.

Raise your set to its highest position, push the seat towards the front. Get in through rear door, and inspect all cabling and connectors under seat for damage, corrosion, or loose connections. Press down on every single connection you see.

Had the same thing happen on my wife's 2009 328i xdrive. Our issue was a loose connecction.
