BMW Manhattan (57th st) ANY good experiences?
I bent a wheel- and thankfully had bought the Road hazard package when I picked the car up
Going on 3 days waiting to get a callback from a service advisor from BMW Manhattan- which is probably all the info I need about doing business there... Anyone have a good contact there I can reach out to? Or should the place be avoided altogether?

Avoid at all costs. BMW grenich in CT Paul miller in jersey and Hassel or rallye on Li are far better choices

I have had good experiences with PACE bmw (part of Greenwich bmw but closer to the city). Not that this will help you today.
As BrokenVert said, I have only heard bad things about Manhattan bmw.

I have also heard bad stuff...it's just so convenient. The thought of dropping off the car in the morning, hopping a cab to work, then picking it up at night was appealing- but I suppose that's a pipe dream in Manhattan.....
I've used Greenwich BMW ( in Port Chester) and it was an excellent shop...... I wonder if I can get a loaner car under these circumstances. I guess a call to Vegard is in order. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

I use BMW Manhattan but I must admit that the service area can be rather impersonal at times but I think that is because they are so busy. I would call them back and not wait for them to call you. Seriously, it's a corporate owned dealership and they should be able to help you.

I know a guy who works in parts at BMW Manhattan and he says he would never get any work done to his personal car at that place.

I've called at least 10 times. You need to have at least 10 minutes to sit around on hold- and then all you get is a receptionist unable to give any substantive answers. The parts guy was actually responsive- and they did get the part in. But a "service advisor" has never returned a call yet. I have an appointment on Monday, which I'm going to skip- but I don;t even feel the need to call and cancel- who has the time for their inefficient methods?

I just got my oil changed there and they topped off all of the fluids including the windshield wiper fluid. The technician apparently put too much water in with the concentrate and when it was below freezing out (which seems like it happens on a daily basis in NYC lately) I couldn't use my windshield wiper fluid to wash my windows because it froze over! |

Just a follow up to say that Greenwich BMW service- in Port Chester- came through with flying colors.
I drove in at 10:40, and was out by noon, with a brand new wheel. No money exchanged hands, thanks to the Road Hazard package I bought Still waiting for that call back from BMW Manhattan......

I walked into BMW Manhattan about 10 yrs ago, and stood at the reception desk for 5 minutes. The person never once looked up at me. I just turned around and walked out.
Enough said. |

Sucks to hear all the bad news about Manhattan BMW. I live and work here in the city actually not very far from the dealership and don't really have a choice of places to go. So far they've been ok, but it definitely is not a small operation.

I remember walking in there once and being told I couldn't even take pictures of their motorcycles. I guess they thought I was "casing the place" or something. I was happy though, my dealership in Honolulu was 100x more friendly than the people there.
