Dct Oil Leak!!

so today having my downpipe and ER charge pipe installed and the indy shop told me they noticed seepage near the pan for the DCT.. the shop owners says he knows a few service guys at BMW, but is that rly necessary? My car is under warranty no way I'm taking the downpipe and CP I just had installed off for a completely unrelated part (tranny gasket?)

Should b no problem right? Reading some other threads noticed people not having an issue with mods so long as it is not something they can prove caused it

Every dealer is different sir. Talk to your SA at your dealer and just flat out ask him what the dealer polices are about having mods. If they say zero tolerance on mods, why not grab an upgraded oil pan and gasket to hold more oil. Gintani sell them but its a lot of cash for a pan, but beats the hell out of voiding your warranty.

I had a similar problem as well. Made a thread about it a little while ago. Looked like the leak was from my pan so the dealership replaced the gasket. Checked the pan a week later and the leak was back. After another dealer visit, the leak turned out to be from a black connector at the top of the dct.

So before you buy the upgraded pan I would confirm the source of the leak first. If it's coming from the top the whole DCT needs to be removed. Would be to your benefit to get that covered under warranty.

Definitely not the pan leaking. Don't waste your time. It's coming from the electrical connection at the top of the trans like houtan said. Trans needs to be removed.. Warranty will take care of it Too bad mine's out of warranty..and leaking..

These guys are absolutely right. Transmission needs to come down.

Well, you can do it with out removing the transmission...but that's a different story.

BMW could not fix my Z4 DCT in 3 tries and I ended up getting a new DCT. I had to remove my mods but it was worth it for a 15k part.
