Alarm

Hi All,

I have a new job in a dodgy suburb and am looking at getting an alarm system for my car. Does anyone have any suggestions on which alarm to get or where to get one from. I am living in Brisbane.

Northfield at Moorooka are very good.

I'm in the next suburb (Carole Park) without an alarm............although I'm in a covered carpark inside the company premises.

I've always wondered, how difficult are BMW's to steal? How many points of immobilisation do our cars come with standard?

My dealer told me not to bother with a factory fitted alarm when I was buying my car. He told me that no BMW had been stolen for x number of years. Went on about the deadlocking on the doors and imobilisation of the engine etc. I bought a couple of stickers instead. Does half the job for a fraction of the price.

I wouldn't worry about an alarm, your car won't get stolen, I'd just be worried someone will scratch and key your car though. Not much you can really do about it. TimMc has some pretty good ideas with the stickers.

I am not worried about it getting stolen either. I would like an alarm with a motion sensor so that if it does get bumped of scratched I can run out and try to catch the prick

I would and have done so in the past. Great satisfaction when catching these "pricks".
