The guys at BMW M Marketing pointed out that they actually did not know any Scott!

Can't understand what the fuss in this thread is about, after all it is just speculation about something we have little investment in by anonymous people. IMHO, only very few people that have BMW (without the extra M) on the card really know what's going on.

FYI, when my dad was in Germany, he asked straight up one of the directors present at the Frankfurt Auto Show about this question.

THERE WILL BE NO 2012 1M. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR PRODUCTION, AS THE NEW MODEL WILL OCCUPY ALL THE PRODUCTION PLACE STARTING DECEMBER.

well herin lies the kick.... nobody knows weather or not it will end/continue on specific dates. Its all heresay and speculation. The people who put absolutes on it are just guessing.

It's called ActiveE. I'm not positive but I heard the project may have been discontinued. I can definitely tell you I'm not certain on the validity of this.

Try this. Walk into any US BMW dealer and ask if you can still order a 1M. Allocations stopped in October, the last of these cars are being built now and won't make it to the US dealers until Mid December just beating the end of the 2011 build year!

I tried to say that on post #5 but no one is listening...it almost seems like some people still had hopes of getting a car, and that possibility seems more and more distant, so now they are placing their faith on a possible 2012 model.

although he has great info at times, hes not the end all be all.

Guys bottom line if BMW sees fit to produce more in 2012 they will.........just wait and see. Nothing is 100% positive......

I for one hope they limit production. I want this car to be extra special otherwise I might as well have bought a 135i at a blow out price and then added mods!

OMG little did I know when I created this thread that I would start such a sh*tstorm in a teacup!

Mind you it's a bit funny to watch people flame each other like this ... for a few minutes, then it gets really old.

Read ALL of the OP: I already have my own car on the way, I'm not trying to push agenda or create controversy. I am just reporting the fact that I am getting a call back from a dealership telling me that they are taking deposits on 2012 1M US allocation and are insisting those allocations are coming even when I question them about it. That simple...
