Who's heading to the Autox school July 11?
I'm registered, and will be there.
Someone at NHMS this past wekeend was telling me this driving event was like the old tune-and-test event. But is it? I thought it was a school? |

I'll be there. Got new rubber on the Subaru that needs a little testing.

Not yet. The last I heard from Miguel was that his vinyl guy had been out sick but he was expecting to get back to it by late last week.

you're killing me smalls!
all you gotta do is take a half hour at the beginning of the season and program them all into your phone/calendar. set reminders 1 month in advance and boom, you're covered for the whole season

Steve's setup guy just canceled, so I have to drive up there (close to 2 hrs) to set up the wired gear, and then immediately head home, change, pack up family and be in Harwichport before noon. Definitely a ~5hr detour I did not need. |

There has to be a better way or somebody that is closer. Could you do it over the phone with either of us Mikes that will be there anyway?

great event, tho it was HOT out there. big thanks to larry for making the drive up to set up the timing equipment
after ML kept hitting this one cone i was working, i started tightening it up by a couple feet....and i guess the narrower gap got his attention, so he stopped hitting the cone. go figure. we can build on this!!

However, I gave most everyone a rest on that lap. You should have been in the car on the previous lap. The instructor and I were nearly in tears from laughing so hard by the time I crossed the finish. He told me to slow a little before entering the last slalom. My response was "Why? There are some cones still standing." I think I took out at least one cone from each feature on that run.

break my 44 second first run? There was tons of time to make up... So, I assume you did.
That was a surprisingly fun course for how small it was... |

The fastest student lap that I heard about was 41.8 sec in a Miata. And 1 held FTD through the morning session with a 43.6 sec run. FTD was 41.1 or 41.2 with an instructor driving Scruffy's car. I think Scruffy's beast was around 41.5 sec. There was a GTR that could have beaten Scruffy's car if an instructor had a little more seat time in it. The GTR's owner's best time was in the 47s. There were a couple of instructors that put it in the 41s with little effort.

Also, there was something on the order of 800 laps done on the timed loop yesterday. So, about the same number of laps as a regular AX event with half the number of cars.
