///1M Colours

Thought I would add some links and shots to the Aus section of this forum, just as some eye candy for those who are busy waiting for cars.

I do like the VO, and I'm sure I'll feel a pang when I spot one on the road. But for a few reasons I didn't choose VO:

1. This car is going to sit in my garage for about three years and I think I'd get tired of the colour.
2. It stands out and I don't really want a "look at me car."
3. I suspect it could be the Audi Imola yellow of tomorrow-- hard to resell.

So I'm happy with Alpine White. It's a traditional M-colour and it shows of the lines brilliantly . . . every time I see an M3 in Alpine White I pause and think "f@ck that looks good."

I love AW and BSM but my vote does go to VO because I would want a "look at me car" as I am an attention seeking shallow human being.

That AW gets me so damn excited. Can't wait for the damn thing to be parked up in my garage - might get some glass put in so I can see it while parked!

VO definitely gets my vote. No more black/grey/white bimmers for me.

Aren't we all mate, aren't we all.

Good thing with a tune the 1M will have enough performance to justify the VO. Bad thing is there will be no discernible straight line difference if you already own a tuned 135i.

Except maybe some assistance from the M Diff and the wider rubber.

It'll 'feel' exactly the same though. Might be pulling less 1 wheel burnouts sure but it just won't be as special as the S65 V8.

I'm sure the LSD will help for sure.

From what I've seen at the track, when comparing 135i's with equal mods in manual vs steptronic, the steptronic guys were a fair bit faster, on average about 0.5 - 1.0 second down the quarter mile. The steptronic times were very consistent too and the manual times varied quite a bit. Unless the driver of the 1M is a great shifter, then I see the 135i autos being quicker. This is only my experience though and I've only been twice.

Check the USA 1addicts site. Go to the wallpapers, specs etc sticky thread and go to post #371 on page 17 which shows all 3 colours front and rear. They are just renders but quite good ones.

I don't know how to provide a link to the above so if someone can inform me I'd be grateful. Or perhaps they can show the pictures on this site. I'm a techno dumbo

I'll need to also have a drive in your M3 to compare

Don't get me wrong, the 1M is gonna be pure awesome with a lot of the M3 parts bolted on which addresses the 135i's biggest downfall - handling. In VO it's gonna be even more special. Just presenting my slight disappointment at using the N54.

I would flip a 3sided coin, sign the papers without knowing the colour and be extremely delighted on delivery regardless.

+ 1

You're not getting into a faster car, you're getting into a sexier car that handles better out of the box.

Taka, I need some colour in my car fleet! Other than the X5M, the last 10 or so cars in the last 3 or so years has been all grey, black and White. And the X3 and Polo GTI is going to be white. Besides, I think that orange is rather nice.
