1M tuning announcements and releases

Please use this thread to post tuning announcements and/or releases, for the 1 Series M coupe BMW.

As far as I know, this is the world premiere

In English, using a translation engine:

1 Series M coupe plus a little more
-----------------------------------

The BMW M Gmbh builds on the legendary BMW M3 and puts on a real M-version of the 1 Series (E82).
And we shall go one better - on the street, but also on the racetrack.
Internal preparations for it are in full swing and soon we will be fully informed of these crunchy athletes "made by Dahler" with 408 HP and 540 Nm.
The tension grows.

Vishnu Tuning's Procede is already available for the Z4is and 335is, which share the same Siemens DME as the 1M and almost identical tuning. The Cobb Accessport should be ready shortly.

AFAIK, the single difference between the "is" models and the 1M is that the 1M has the M button which creates more aggressive throttle response.

^ Yeah and JB & Vishnu I'm sure will only need minor adjustments to run on the 1M.

Sounds cool, hope they come through soon. Also excited about some of the CF body mods RevoSport and IND are supposedly working on.

For me, modding and personalizing is half the fun of driving performance cars!

Well, there have been no announcements so far from either Vishnu, Burger Tuning or Cobb, specific for 1M.
Please only post announcements and releases, not assumptions that some tuner might probably have a tune in the future

Cobb isn't even ready with a tune for all existing N54 platforms (1, 3, Z4, X1, X3; i/iS ; AT/MT etc) , and they refuse to give a timing for when they will be, let alone they will have a tune for the 1M soon.
Also, no N54 engine has been released so far with an M button that tweaks its settings. So tuners cannot 'copy/paste' from iS to M verson of N54 platform.

Anyway, didn't want to start this thread to discuss N54 tuning, only to gather a list of announced/released tunings available specific for 1M.

Thanks

The autotuning map on the JB4 (Map 5) is fully expected to work with the 1M.

Seems German tuner companies believe in a tuning market for the 1M.

Here's another announcement, from "DS Motorsport" in Germany.
Note, they hope to have this tune available in March !

Translated with Babelfish:

BMW 1er M Coupé 400 HP with TÜV in preparation! Starting from March 2011 available! For the 1er M we offer an achievement offer on 400 HP with 540 Nm torque as well as opening of the maximum speed delimitation with a new Vmax on 295 km/h. Additional recommendation during this engine performance is height adjustability, and in the absorber characteristic adjustable our DS engine haven special chassis.

lol. love those automatic translations:-)
The last sentence makes no sense. They offer a height adjustable suspension with adjustable damping characteristics.

I called up Dinan just to check on their timeline and product offerings. They are expecting (a white) 1 ///M 'soon', shortly thereafter they will be releasing a tune, as well as later on a suspension upgrade, and probably sprinkles of other goodies. The rep seemed to indicate the tune won't be taking 'too long' considering the 'overlap' with their "is" software offering.

imo the only tuning that would make sense would be things like sport/track tires, weight reduction (carbon bucket seats etc.) / for track use brake upgrades maybe (not even) suspension upgrades

think it has more than enough torque for a rwd

but what would i know - i have only driven awd cars so far...

I am definetely curious about the akra-exhaust! Seems like it is adjustable, that's what I need :-) Want to be able to show up at my girlfriends parents and still getting allowed to take her with me :-p

How about warranty after ECU reconfiguration? Is there any company that doesn't affect it? Maybe the official BMW stage 1 and 2 tune for N54 engines?

Based on all information available to-date (including Matt Russell's briefing at the press launch), the only difference to the motor in the 1M are piston rings and software.

Do you know differently?

You can make the claim that the N54 is unchanged if you want, but having driven a 135 and the 1M, the N54 in the 1M performs entirely different.
