Seat leather replacement
My passenger seat bottom has a protruding bump. Looks as if a finger was trying to poke through. I took it in for warranty and the SA advised me that BMW only sends a piece of leather to replace the one currently on and that once the job is done, it most likely won't look the same and that the seat might have a saggy appearance (not as tight as original piece). It sounded more discouraging and he also mentioned it might be only a one time fix as the seat will never be as new again. I have Terracotta leather so I'm also worried the color won't match.
The paper work from the tech said it was a heating wire protruding. I don't have heated seats so... Maybe it's an airbag sensor instead...? Anyways, I requested the work get done as the seat might get worse but now I'm also wondering if I do have heated seats and only needed to add the heat activation buttons for the console. Can anyone advise on how to check this? Has anyone had this type of work done? What was the outcome? Thanks. |

I had my driver's side leather replaced because it looked baggy. Looks just like the other seat.

^^I never knew you could replace the leather on the seat! Which parts of the seat leather did they replace for you? I'm interested.

So they did replace the leather seatbottom and it came out nice....but the new piece they used looked like it was a prior repared piece. Looks it was slashed before and glued plus dyed to match.
I tried living with it but it just bothered me too much so I went back & spoke to the SA, they looked at it and agreed so they ordered it again. |
