It is, indeed, beautiful! I was 99% sure it was real, but never asked. It is an amazing installation of real wood. It's perfect.

I have poplar with beige and it looks very elegant, albeit high maintenance. I polished out some small surface scratches on the center console wood piece and applied some Klasse AOI and SG. It looks gooood.

It is real for sure.

I never saw myself getting wood, but I saw it in the test drive car and the gloss is amazing and it just looks so right in the interior, so I had to get it.

It is real - if you consider a wood veneer to be real wood. THe actual trim piece is not made of wood.

The actual trim peice is formed of plastic and then a very, very thin layer of wood, called a veneer, is applied to the plastic. So it is real wood but only about 1/16 th of an inch of it

It was so difficult to tell the difference between poplar and burl trims from the brochure.

Also after reading the fine print, I realize that with the premium interior, the "default" trim is Burl Walnut. Poplar or Aluminum trim would have to be ordered as optional (no added cost).

I wanted Poplar, but the dealership inadvertently forgot to specify that option. Having said all this, I'm actually glad they made that mistake because I think I'll like the Burl trim better anyway.

Burl Walnut's nice but not sporty enough for my taste. My father might go for it.

That's exactly what happened with my order. I told the salesman "Poplar," and he ordered it with the default Burled Walnut. I don't regret it for a minute. I love it!

LOL - I left myself wide open there I admit... I was thinking about it when I wrote it, and laughed at it myself, and wondered if anyone would pick it up.

I ordered the Burl Walnut to go with my beige letherette interior, which was a $585 CDN extra in Canada. The standard default in Canada is Aluminum trim. Hopefully when my car finally arrives next week I will appreciate paying extra for it. When BMW USA say they will supply aliminum trim for "no added cost" they should be giving a credit, because I am sure the cost is less.

I'm sure you'll be pleased. We have beige leather with Walnut in both cars and it is great! Aluminum and beige is the worst combo... too bland.
