Jason, you're not done yet with the clean-up - see post 13 in this thread.

EDIT: I cleaned up the original poster's quote in mine, but missed that one...

Alright guys thanks for your support. I guess what I wrote didnt depict what I actually meant to say. I posted snow damaged my car, but what I meant was that I was driving in snow and I damaged my car. Im not going to apologize to bavarian because hes a prick and should have been more polite when replying. Thanks again to all of you.

This country is getting better already>

How did you manage to slide out a xi?
I've found it nearly impossible to slide out my xiT, unless the DSC is off......................that is way more fun, to the trained driver.
I guess the key word is "nearly"

Either way sorry to hear about your mishap,.

When I first read the title of the thread I was thinking of those accident reports that I read on a joke site.... "But officer, the tree just jumped out in front of me!"

Anyway. Sounds like your going to have to pony up the money to fix the car... Then, the next time it snows, go out into a snow covered empty lot and throw the car around to see where the limits are.. It will give you a much better idea of what to expect.. I've done that with every car I've every bought.

I had dtc on and was turning . When dtc is on there is more power going to the wheels to get you out of snow, mud, etc. So i was fishtailing and hit the curb.

DTC is on by default... if you hit the DTC button on the dash, you actually turn it OFF!!! That would explain what happend, I've never been able to get the car to fishtail under power.

The OP posted in here to get help, and all he got was a bunch of crap and "holier than thou" attitude. I can't say I blame the guy for trying to get the damage repaired for free. I don't think there is any doubt that he is at fault - but he was just asking if there is a way out of it? What's wrong with that? Only a tool would pay for a repair that they could potentially get fix at no cost to themselves.

If you don't like his post, or his question, THEN DON'T REPLY!!! I'm sure the guy doesn't need a lecture on the moraility of his potential warranty claim, or his lack of driving skills. Seriously... it makes me mad. The folks who scoulded him (you know who you are) - please take your heads out of your a*ses and cut the guy some slack. If you can't do that, then just ignore his post. By the way, please don't bother replying to me - I'm not interested. I've given my two cents and I'm done.

bavarian19 - nice job trying to bring some reality to the topic, but it looks like we have yet another brainless noob here.

Jason - good call on the edit. Made the thread hard to read, but I got the gist of it.

if it's your own fault you should pay for it yourself,

actually it might be better to just bite the bullet and pay for the damages yourself. Too many claims on your insurance, and they will drop you without blinking.

really, nobody has said anything in the thread that was out of line except for the OP's response to everyone's comments

if I do something stupid, tell me.... don't reinforce that it's OK to blame your mistakes on others and expect everyone except for yourself to pay for your mistakes

Sorry quincy. When I see an idiot I call him an idiot. Pandering to every moron that has access to the Internet is not a requirement of this forum. You probably didn't see what this jackass said to bavarian (Jason was all over that one and deleted it), but believe me, calling him brainless is appropriate and quite mild.

I wouldn't have even bothered a post, but I like Bavarian and I think he was perfectly in line and got jumped all over by some jerk. If we don't have each other's back here then I'm not really interested in being here. If you feel that I don't contribute to this forum in a positive way (most of the time) then start a poll - if the majority agree you'll never see me again. Otherwise, I reserve the right to call an idiot an idiot.

First off im not 15 and my dad didnt buy me my e90. I restated my post and I think you guys should get off my back. All you guys think your so above everyone else and are quick to judge. Im not here asking for your opinion on my character, driving skills,or my intellect. I probably do far better than most of you. So if you are still not going to reply in a helpful and non discriminating manner, I suggest you get a life...this is not a drama television series.
