225/40/19 & 255/35/19 fitment?

Hey guys I am in the process of buying a set of Alufelgen sf-71, unfortunately they only come in 19”. I was wondering if it was possible that I could fit those tires on my stock 135i. I have no planes of lowering it. I know the specific tire for this set is 225/35/19 and 255/30/19 however the tire I want does not come in those sizes. I want to put some high performance all-season tires like continental extreme contact dws or something similar. Would they rub to much? Any suggestion.

That front size at 225/40 is .8 inches taller(.4 each side go the hub) than the 35 ratio..My 135i has approx 1 inch of clearance to the fenderwell with my 225/35/19 Alufelgens Sf71s. You have approx .9 inches to play with..My Msprt package is 15mm lower than the stock, so Im guessing you would be fine..

19" wheels should have no problem clearing the calipers, but it's always a good idea to ask the manufacturer to make sure. That would your greatest concern. Generally, going with larger wheels gives plenty of clearance.

Go to the TireRack website and look at the spec's for the OEM tire size, specifically look at the overall diameter for the 18" tire size.
If you keep the diameter close you'll be fine.
As far as width, I am running 225/255 Conti DWS with NO rubbing issues at all

As you know, the 19" size option lists:
225/35/19 Front
255/30/19 Rear

Example:
OEM size:
215/40/18 = 24.8" diameter
245/35/18 = 25" diameter

So, you're looking for a diameter as close to 25" for both front and rear.

Here is the diameter of the optional wider 225fr and 255rr size in the Conti DWS tire, which I am running on my 135i
225/40/18 = 25.1"
255/35/18 = 25"

Other tires in the same size have slight differences in overall diameter, but they are right there around 25".

When you go up in tire circumference, you'll have to go with a shorter side profile, to keep the overall diameter as same as possible.
This is so that your speedometer reads correctly, or as close as possible.
If the overall diameter is bigger your speedo will read too low/slow, and if the overall diameter is smaller the speedo will read too high/fast.

I looked up the Conti DWS in 19".
You have an option.
Front - 225/35/19 has a 25.2" diameter. This will fit fine.
Rear - 265/30/19 has a 25.3" diameter. This should work too considering that the DWS tends to run a bit narrower than equivalent sized summer performance rubber.

My 225/255 DWS were about the same width as my RFT's in
214/245.
I have plenty of room with the 255's, and it looks like there is plenty of room for a 265 width.

The 265/30/19 DWS has a tread width of 10.2
Maybe you can measure your current tires width to get an idea of how much wider that would be.

The concern would be with the "section width".
My 255's have a 9" width.
The 265's have a 10.7" width.

Give TireRack a call and ask if the 265 will fit.

Thanks for the advice I will definitely consider doing 225/35/19 and 265/30/19. I guess I will have to roll a little bit of the fender.
