It's on the options list. Our friend's X5 had it too, and their's was pre LCI.

Well...I must have been daydreaming. I wouldn't have ordered it anyway as we don't have a door slamming problem.

I'm not a big fan of the auto tailgate though. The other day I heard a bang in the garage and it turns out I must have activated the keyfob in my pocket which activated the auto tailgate - which then swung up and hit the garage door. Missus hasn't discovered the nick in the door so we'll keep hush about that one, OK.

If you're thinking about an X5, I suggest you have a good look at the 40d. We went for a drive up to Moore River, north of Perth. Sitting on 110kmh, bury the foot to overtake and the beast just hauls out. I love it.

I was always going to get one sometime next year, but probably not that early until I drove it a couple of days ago.

I believe sparoz got a xDrive40d loaner while his 1er was in for HPFP.

I have to agree with the sentiments here, even my dad's X6 with the older 35d engine hauls some serious ASS for a 2.2tonne vehicle. The midrange punch is astonishing.

The thing would be an absolute monster with a tune.

Garage List
I've been driven around in a 5'er GT which had the soft-closing option, I thought it was quite a good idea although it did catch me out when I wasn't expecting it the first time.

As for big cars with punch, I'll never forget the first time a good friend took me for a spin in his Cayenne Turbo, that thing sounded like a jet engine when it was on full roar.
