I have done HPDE's and AutoX's with BMWCCA and with PCA (and I am a semi-diehard Bimmer lover) and I must say that I had waaaay more fun at the PCA events I went to....the instruction was also just as good as at BMWCCA events (funny thing is my instructors at all my PCA events were Bimmer drivers....go figure).

Just got back from the Performance Center yesterday. Fantastic experience - I am definitely going to go back at some point and do the 2-day school. (Heck, I'd even do the one-day school again - one of the guys in our group had done the M School at least once before, and had done several PCD's over the years.) Guys, if you think you *might* be interested in this, just do it.

Jim- for whatever it's worth, I asked some of the instructors if they were going to get a 1SMC for used on the in the future, and they all basically responded, "Yeah, it's an M, so we'll definitely be getting one here."

@GaryS - thanks, apparently I don't read very well when I'm excited.

^^^Niiiice...that just makes me want to do it even more! Better bang for buck in HPDE's but then again I don't get to beat on a slew of M cars either! Glad you had fun!

Yes, it's the M cars that make it completely worth it. I won Jonathan Stribble's charity auction on Bimmerfest, so I got to go for free, and I have to admit, I occasionally said to myself: "Hmm, $1300 for one day at the track? Kind of pricey..." No more. It's worth every penny.

I'd love to do an HPDE, too, but I've not heard of one being done in the Pittsburgh - Cleveland area. There's a local track (BeaveRun) that occasionally does 'flat out days', so I might try to do one of those in the next few months.

I am sure there is something around there...just Google your local BMWCCA, Porsche Club of America, or even the Audi Clubs and you can something..at the very least someone is doing AutoX's in those areas....
