I was referring to the LSD side of the equation only.

In all seriousness, no, it didn't. I owned an AW11 MR2, 1986, which was of the first generation. The 2nd generation, the heavier, more powerful GT-style MR2, was the model known to snap oversteer during lift-throttle maneuvers. I bought the MR2 when I was 16 years old, and when I was still paying for the car needed a new set of tires. My father offered to buy me a set. A few months later, at about 3000 miles on the tires, I told my dad I was having trouble in the rain. This was, of course, because the cords were showing. My father, thinking that it was completely implausible that tires would wear out so quickly unless something was seriously wrong with the car, took it back to the tire shop and asked for an alignment. Whaddya know, it checked out just fine. I was on the hook for the next set... I drifted that thing like mad at every opportunity. At the time, the dark days of pre-internet and global economy, I had no idea what drifting was so I called it "swinging [the tail]." I would win lunch (beer??) money by taking bets from my passenger about how close I could get the tail to a parked car. He'd call "5 feet!" and I'd nearly kiss it. 5 bux in the pocket... I really, REALLY enjoyed that car. Never spun it once, when I wasn't meaning to. Drove the proverbial sh|t out of that thing and it was quite reliable, and phenomenally economical (~30mpg, IIRC). I've often thought about grabbing a pristine example from California, and driving it for the rest of my life after a full resto. Fun car. Honestly, I am REALLY hoping Toyota builds the rumored AE86/Trueno; 2200 lbs, 120hp, ~$12,000, RWD. I'd be first in line. |

Coming from an 2 S2000's I know the wonders an LSD can do. I bet this will become an option sooner or later for the 135i.

Jasper - either you're having some fun with us mixing together the notion of the 60/40 split rear seat with a Limited Slip Differential or we got to figure out the correct dosage for you meds. ; -)
