^ hlmiii thanks for the info. I have a single car garage, but I have plenty of room to go up. I will take some measurements first before I go any further. Thanks for the input.

You're welcome. "Up" turned out to be the most unexpected issue and precious quantity for my situation.
FWIW: minimum height requirement is the height of lower car + 6" plus height of upper car + 12" The clearance needs to be apart from/in addition to anything above the lift area. It gets challenging pretty quickly. |

Now if I could just get a car to put back on it lift would be good. |

They're both Canadian, errr....Chinese. Around 3k each installed. In addition to the other comments, ensure you have sufficient power and check the width. Some of my cars are very wide and there's little room for error driving them on.

Jamie, considering the rest of your stable, what was the main reason for you for getting a 1M rather than other BMW ///M cars ?
Does the forthcoming F87 M2 (production starts this November) arouse your curiosity ?

It's likely the most fun M car you can buy right now. BMW lost the script long ago.

I just got back from BMW 2 day M driving school at Thermal, CA. I drove the current M3, M4, M5 with performance package and M6 Gran Coupe for 2 days balls out. Jamie is correct, at least out of all these, I felt the 1M was far and away a much more fun car to drive….even just sitting in the cars the 1M feels better. No desire for the 2M…at least not at the moment.

Congrats... wow. I've seen your RS around and I'm assuming it was your CGT I saw as well. I live in Toronto by the way.
Would love to see some of that stable up close, absolutely amazing. |
