Starting to see the same thing on my dash (09, 4000 miles). Going in to an SA on Friday to talk about the valve popping noise in the dash issue. Plan on bringing this up as well. Not feeling good about this.

My dealer's trying to tell me this is a normal thing on the 135. Has anybody had their dash successfully replaced?

My dealer told me the same thing. "It's normal". Mine has been in the shop for 8 days now and they are waiting on some parts for the storage unit. If it's anything like the wait on the dash it will be a month without my car. I don't see them giving me my car back with a big hole in the center of the dash?

It really is truly sad that any dealer would say that this condition is "normal". My dealer was just puzzled as to how my dash got this way, now after a little research they realize that it is indeed not normal and have ordered everything. I'm waiting for the parts to arrive at my dealer for the install.

I believe that this issue is a direct result of BMW using cost cutting materials for the 1 series...

I believe so too....The 09 328 I'm driving now has a much better dash in it than what is in the 1er. It's a pricey cheap car. It's a shame I paid $44,000 out the door on a car that is now selling new for much less with more equipment and has a GOD awful trade-in.

It is about a 6 hour jov with a good tech. Best of luck, and let us know how they did...just check it over real good for nicks, blems, and scratches, as well as squeeks before you head home.

I was told by my SA that I got the most experienced tech they had. We shall see...

My car's airbag is actually bulging out slightly. I would rather live with that then have the dash replaced by the dealer and have the chance of getting any rattles or squeaks.

My last car was an Acura TL and it did the same thing. I used 303 Protectant Spray on the Acura's dash and it was less noticeable.

I thought that was a problem also until I looked at all the new 135's sitting at the dealership and they all had the same indentation.

I've got a small horizontal line on my car that's been there since it was new. I've had the car for a year now and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse, so I think I'm in the clear on this one.

It's good to see the dealers are fixing these things. I'm not sure how I feel aout the new dash though. On one hand I like the idea of the storage bin, but on the other, I like the way the dash looks without it. I guess I could live with it either way.

None at all... I am very pleased that I got this taken care of. I will start to place a sun visor over my dash everyday during work to pervent the sun from beeming down all day long. Perhaps this will prevent the new one from having the same issue...

Got the car back today after 2 and half weeks. My dash bin was back ordered. The car is perfect NO rattles, scratches etc. They did a great job on the install but I have a feeling the dash will do it again. I believe this will continue to be an issue with the car until they redesign the dash.
