1M in Peru - 14,000kms so far - Modifications and touches (PICS)

So after a year and a half with my 1M I finally hit 14,000kms last week. It's taken a lot of time and patience to research and look for parts and upgrades for my 1M, specially since I'm in Peru and buying and importing parts is a pain in the butt on account of Peru's import duties and red-tape import procedures.
I didn't want to steer off too much from the stock car as I feel it's just brilliant the way it is, but I did want to personalize it and make it special.
And these are the changes I've made to my /// 1M Coupe.
Color: Black Sapphire Metallic
Production: June 2011

Performance + Mods:
- Evolve-R Tune
- Akra Slip-On with CF Tips + Wireless Kit
- Maddad Midpipe
- AFE Stage 2 Closed Intake + Dynamic AirScoops
- Evolution Racewerks ChargePipe
- Rogue Engineering Short Shift Kit
- RS Technik Spacers 5mm/12mm (front/back)
- BMW Performance Electronic Steering Wheel Version 2
- P3Cars Gauge Vent Integrated Digital Interface w/ CANBUS
- Modified Clutch Delay Valve
- Rubber clutch stop
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires - 245/35 ZR19 + 265/35 ZR19

Looks:
- LUX Angel Eyes 5000K (used to have the 6500K lights before)
- ZHP Illuminated Short Shift Knob
- Revozport CF Diffuser with CF Ground Effect Panel
- BMW Performance CF Spoiler
- BMW Performance CF Rear View Mirror Caps
- Evolution Racewerks - Carbon Fiber Engine Cover - N54
- IND M Gloss black side grilles
- AutoCarbon CF Front Grilles
- AutoCarbon CF Shark Fin Cover
- CF license plate cover x 2
- BMW Performance Pedals
- BMW 1M Coupe Car Cover

To be installed later:
- Burger Motorsport Oil Catch Can N54 + Rogue Engineering Transmission Mounts (To be installed as soon as I get these to Peru)
- Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads + Stoptech SS Brake Line Kit (to be installed in about 2000kms when my OEM brake pads are done)
- Clutchmasters FX300 (I got this to have a clutch at hand in case my OEM clutch fails, it has slipped before).

I have posted these links before, but it won't hurt to put them again, these are videos of my 1M when I had my Akra exhaust installed along with the Maddad midpipe, without the Evolve tune:

And here are some pictures of my car and some of its parts. The first pictures of the lights show the OEM Angel Eyes, then the LUX 6500k and finally the LUX 5000K.
Then there are some pics of the Maddad midpipe, Akra exhaust, and the installation of these and my Revozport CF Diffuser, and then some other from the track and the CF parts.
Any suggestions on any other touches that might work with my setup?

Wonderful mods, awesome car!

If it wasn't for our house being built and me not (yet) winning the lottery, I would pretty much do exactly the same mods to my car!

Cheers

Looks great!!!(ESP when clean... As with all BSMs)...
The only thing I would add is a pair of Black lined tail lights ... And maybe a black ///M emblem with chrome surround (from IND).
I have the same set-up in mind but can't decide between CF vs Ti akra Tips...
Seeing yours swings the pendulum back to the CF side...

Using the clutch stop together with modified CDV may not be helping your clutch life or its functioning greatly. I would rethink about it.

Otherwise very nicely modded car, I agree with adding color matched M logo and blacklines, especially latter.

Also, despite having a tune and almost FBO mods, I did not see a FMIC in your list, any specific reason?

Hi,
So how come you say the CDV and the clutch stop don't work well together?
I have looked into the blacklines but haven't decided where to buy them and how to get them to Peru yet, importing stuff is a hassle here! I'll definitely look into the IND emblem when I go to the States in a couple of weeks.
About the FBO mods, I think aftermarket downpipes are a step too far for me, but I have thought about changing the FMIC, I am still researching which way to go, any thoughts?
I've looked into the Evolve FMIC (which I think is quite expensive) and Helix. But I am not quite sure what to get yet, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't say which FMIC is better than other honestly since I don't have one yet but I plan to go with Evolve if and when I go that direction. If for any reason I can't buy the Evolve, both ETS and Forge (in this order of preferance) could be good alternatives for me since they seem to be good quality and they require no cutting/trimming at all which is important for me.

I think with your set up and considering the weather characteristics of Peru you should have a FMIC, even if you are not tracking the car.

I bought my blacklines from http://www.schmiedmann.com/ They sell OEM item and shipping is quick and not too expensive. I also had to pay import taxes, fact of life!

While ago I have asked myself this CDV and clutch stop question in this Forum, that if I could use them together; on paper we can do that but it seems that majority opinion was there may be downsides of this double operation since with the installation of clutch stop you change the travel length of the clutch and you force it not to fully engage. It might give you a good sensation and a faster gear change but I also came to the conclusion that this can't be all good news for clutch life. Since the CDV mod alone satisfies me in terms of how it operates I see no need to go further with the tranny or clutch mods and play it safe. Personally I don't feel like the clutch or gear change need to be shortened. You might like to ask this to guys who tried a clutch stop for long time in their cars and better, ask it to knowledged technicians.

Thanks for the reply, I'll look into removing the rubber clutch stop, I do like the feel of the CDV mod.
I already ordered the M emblem from IND, it looks great! I'm sure it'll match perfectly with my setup, thanks for the advice!
I'll look into getting the blacklines, if I can get them shipped to the States in the next couple of weeks, I may be able to bring them myself back to Peru.
About the FMIC, I agree that no cutting/trimming is a must!!!
I'll research a bit more----> Evolve/Helix/ETS/Forge to see what I like.
Saludos!

Diego if you are visiting New York and need somewhere to ship those lights LMK. My brother has an auto shop.

ECS has them in stock but I'm pretty sure Schiedmann is cheaper. I could have my brother call the Greenwich BMW dealer which is down the block and ask how much they are, if they even stock them.

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E82-135...ing/ES2550272/

Evolve is a nice choice. I had the custom tune on my E92 M3 and their downpipe on my R56 Cooper S. If they had the intercooler I probably would have bought from them too but I got it from Helix instead, very nice piece.

If you have the stock Comp wheels I think I've seen your car on Javier Prado a few times parked a few streets up from San Luis.

Garage List
The CDV and Clutch Stop work fine together. They both address different issues. CDV allows for direct engagement of the clutch which also allows you to dump the clutch which may cause premature wear.

The Clutch Stop allows you to limit clutch pedal travel and possibly clutch travel. I don't know the exact point where the clutch is fully disengaged, but I'm guessing that if you're able to start your car with the Clutch Stop installed, then the clutch is fully disengaged hence the false statement by Oz. It's all dependent on how you set up the clutch stop (i.e., how much travel you want to take out) and how good of a MT driver you are. Many on the forum with Clutch Stops have complained about grinding gears and to my recollection 100% of this issue is due to driver error of engaging the clutch before fully shifting into gear.

Just noticed that your car is the COTM, congratulations!

By the way, did you install anything else after the last update? I would like to hear your impressions about the transmission mounts, don't remember anybody else who did that before on a 1M.

Niiice!!! I had no idea about COTM, excellent surprise!!

I returned from the States a week ago and brought back a set of blackline tail lights, an IND black M emblem, Rogue Engineering transmission mounts and a BM Oil Catch Can.
I had everything installed a couple of days ago (except for the emblem which I did myself and the OCC which was shipped to me with a wrong hose so I have to wait for a new one before I can install it).
I haven't had much time to put some serious load onto the transmission (like on a track) but so far it seems pretty sturdy and I like the feel while driving spiritedly!
I have to say that I was a bit skeptical about the blackline tail lights before I saw them in person for the first time! I was a bit scared they would be too tinted or dark, but they are just perfect!! I simply love the look of the tail lights along with the black M emblem, my 1M was missing those final touches to make the CF parts look matched perfectly with the rest of the car IMO.
Here are some pics of the before and after of the tail lights and the installation of the emblem.

Well done and looks great. How easy or hard was the installation of the mounts?

Suggestions: Buy Jezzer mats before they finish if you already didn't. Put silver turn indicator bulbs in the headlight cluster which are available everywhere including your BMW dealer and easiest thing to install (takes out egg york effect).

Question: Where did you get the CF licence plate frames from and what are the dimensions?
