NE Off-Topic (Catching you bench on fire and other randomness)
This thread can just be for general ranting purposes
Now, for those who don't know me.... I repair musical instruments. Whilst cleaning one today I was using my alcohol lamp and acetone to remove super glue (some of you can probably all ready see where this is heading). I was heating a key cup and dipping a Q-tip into the acetone... when all of a sudden I knocked over the acetone spraying not only my bench surface of cotton matting, but also catching the key and flame, which proceeds to burst into flames. It reaches down and catches my cotton mat on fire. I throw it on the ground and stomp on it, in an attempt to put out this fireball I've created. Finally, a co-worker takes my water bottle and empties it on the fire. Crisis-averted... So, after that ordeal, I had a small burn on my arm, slightly warmed pumas and shins, and a subtle camp-fire smell in the work area.... Just thought I'd share.

I had the experience before. I do test and repair on electronic circuit board. One time, I was testing a board. When I power it up, the whole board got on fired. My co-worker used my bottle of water.
I just got burned and I went to hospital. |

Wow, Rachel. It sounds like it could have been much worse. I've had burn related skin grafts, and they are not fun at all. Burns are some of the most painful things to endure. Hope today isn't too bad for you, but I would have been freaking out amidst all of those flames.
Mine is a french fry hot oil story that ended me in the hospital for a week, and treatments for months. |

Thank you for all your concern, but I am perfectly fine! Just a little burn, the whole ordeal was more tragic. I'm glad everyone else shared their stories as well!!

Glad to hear your okay Rachel.
I'm going to Utah this saturday! Snowboarding!! I've purposly started fires with acetone at work... The only burns I got accidently are from dumby me leaning on welds right after I just finished. Altho one time was to prevent myself from falling off a table. Leaning on red hot steel = I guess the lesson here is be careful with flammable products |

I'll be heading to Venice and (hopefully) Copenhagen on April 3 for a week +. After all the ice and snow this winter, I think everyone should get a paid vacation.

If you end up snowboarding, you'll be falling a lot. At least it's powder.
I'll post a pic each of Venice and Copenhagen. It'll be the first time I'll ever visit Copenhagen and I'm wicked excited!

I was thinking about my new shadowline (inside part) grills that are coming, and it lead me to my next thought. Why don't jet engines have grills? The whole Hudson thing could've been avoided, no?
