First pics of my AW + first mods already done!!!
I finally picked up my 120d AW with Coral leather interior this Monday. The weather has been just perfect and I've been all smiles driving it for couple of days.
Today I took the car to a shop to have the new suspension installed. It took good 8 hours to get the car back, but it was well worth it! I first ordered my 120d without the M-suspension kit, since all what I read about it was how harsh it was and the height difference is only 15mm (.59") compared to the base suspension. After driven couple of hundred kilometres with the base suspension I was really likeing the ride and handling, but not the 4x4 looks of it. So I had a suspension kit installed. I was bit afraid how it would affect the ride, would it go too harsh, but it didn't at all. I still rides very similar to stock suspension, only lower! :headbang: I have the front lowered 40mm (1.57") and the rear sits 20mm (.78") lower now. In the last pic you'll see how it sits now (quick snap, will take more tomorrow once I get the car detailed...) So here's few shots, the first ones are with stock suspension, only the last pic shows the car lowered. Next is the 19" wheels, once I get them back from the powdercoating place. Hope all of you are enjoying these little wonder cars as much as I'm enjoying mine! :w00t: |

Really nice! I'm getting a 128i AW too, so I know now how it looks. Good thing you got it lowered, that's a must these days
You're powdercoating your wheels white I guess? I'm eager to see that since I also have that in mind. Keep it up!

The angle you've taken the photos doesn't really give us an idea of just how low the car sits now. Can you take some side on? Interested to see how it looks. Is this an Eibach kit?

I wouldn't refer to Helsinki as "Nowhere". Awesome city.

Yes, and don't forget how important Helsinki is in the history of the American Dodgeball Association of America!

Thanks to these instructions http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6547
I was able to change my stock 120d black kindney's for some OEM 135i chrome kidneys! Here's a shot showing the driver side kindey removed. The holes for the clips are easy to spot here! Driverside installed: Both replaced with chrome: Success! :headbang: |
