iDrive cup holder retrofit?
Hey everyone, as you all may know, the E82 non iDrive cars have possibly the poorest designed cup holders of any vehicle ever produced. I really love the big cup holder that comes on the E63 650i and iDrive E82's. Is it possible to retrofit that cupholder in my 135i in a cost effective manner? The parts are fairly priced, but how involved is the installation?

Yesh it's there on both of their posts - you can buy the parts and install separately

I think they have another two others for $49, and the OEM for $68.

I wonder how the quality difference is between the different options

The only OEM thing I buy is oil lol. OEM BMW stuff is unnecessarily expensive and rarely better than aftermarket, if not worse.

Almost always buy OEM BMW=Porsche-Audi etc and find its worth the difference= rarely is aftermarket better. Just my take. Personally do not like the look of cup holder and couldn't bring myself to cut console even if I did.

Not the cupholder, if you take some time and examine it very closely. It's definitely a well made piece, especially with the satin chrome BMW puts on their interiors. That shit is hard to duplicate.

I don't think the Germans intended for us to eat our breakfast or sip our lattes while piloting the ultimate driving machine.

You're right about that, but I don't see a "quart" holder for the buckets of oil the car drinks either lol
