135i twin turbo engine
Hi all, we are about to buy a 2011 135i convertible (32k miles) and I'm a little worried about the twin turbo engine. Were all or at least most of the issues with the twin turbo resolved by 2011 or do we have to expect significant maintenance and/or repair bills? -Thanks for your help!

If it's a MY11 it is an N55, in which case it is a single twin scroll BW turbo. Not a twin setup.
The 55 is quite reliable, all in all.

Don't get CPO - instead, buy the BMW Gold extended warranty. You'll save money and will have more items covered. The engine in the 2011 135 is indeed an N55, with slightly less tuning potential, but producing the same power as the N54 twin-turbo in stock form. The N55 has not had near the problems as the N54 with high-pressure fuel pump failures and wastegate rattle, etc.

Not to worry
I have a 2009 135i convertible with 87000 miles. Engine has been awesome. Had one fuel injector replaced at 45000 miles, but otherwise has been perfect!
