BMW 135i Custom Build
Hi everyone, a bit new to this site. I own a 2009 BMW 135i, I've had it since september of 2014 and have been slowly modifying it since. I'm beginning to accumulate the parts needed to begin body work such as a new bumper, widened fenders, and side skirts. I thought it would be appropriate to start a build thread as I am a bit new to this and would love to hear any suggestions, concerns, and ideas.
And here is a list of modifications I have done so far: JB4 G5 BMS Oil Catch Can BMS Oil Thermostat BMS Cowl Filters Stett Stainless Steel Vacuum Canisters Stett Cold Air Intake CP Chargepipe Turbosmart Dual Diverter Valves Evolution Racewerks Carbon Engine Cover Turner Motorsports Carbon Strut Bar AR Design Catless Downpipes Maddad Catless Midpipes Berk Race Axel-Back w/ Muffler Delete BMS Clutch Stop BMW Short Shift Kit Spec Stage 1 Clutch and Aluminum Flywheel BMW 335is Engine Mounts Stoptech Drilled and Slotted Cryogenically Treated Brake Rotors ECS Stainless Steel Brake Lines Painted Grey Calipers N5Tuner Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Custom Alcantara Steering Wheel with Tri-Color Stitching Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Insert Alcantara Shift and Brake Boot with Tri-Color Stitching Carbon Fiber Shift Knob Carbon Fiber Brake Handle Carbon Fiber Pedal Set Blackline Taillights w/ Tint Painted Black Exterior Trim Rieger Style Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser CSL Style Carbon Fiber Trunk Seibon Carbon Fiber M3 Style Hood RW Carbon Side Mirrors RW Carbon Kidney Grills Cree RGBW Headlights w/ Bluetooth Parts that have been ordered or will be ordered but have yet to be installed: AD Engineering Stepped 1000+ HP Intercooler (Anodized Type III Black) Evolution Racewerks Front End Wide Body Kit N5Tuner Widened Rear Fenders Avant Garde M580's I also plan to switch to a lighter tint on the taillights and paint the insides of the headlights black. I am sure that I have left some things out but I will continue to update as the build progresses. Please feel free to comment and ask questions, I would love to hear your suggestions and ideas. Sincerely, Chasen |

Are you doing or do you already have any suspension mods done ? I'm always surprised to see people doing extensive power mods to these cars without first improving the suspension. To me the weak link in a 135 is the handling not the power. Nice mod list non the less.

I've got BMW performance suspension, E92 M3 front sway bar, Whiteline subframe bushings and Dinan rear upper shock mounts. The car is planted yet compliant. Just the way I wanted it. It actually rides better than stock.

Yeah, German cars and brake dust go hand in hand.

The brake dust is unbelievable on this car and used to be even worse with the stock pads before I switched to ceramic. You are correct that the wheels are plasti-dipped black, the break dust is still very apparent thought. Thanks for all the great suggestions on suspension parts!
