Nurburgring times...

I have been wondering this for a while:

Are there any "official" or "unofficial" Nurburgring lap-times for the 135i? From either BMW themselves or maybe an "independant" magazine...tuner? I did a search and everything so far has been regular owners taking pics or describing their experience on the track....Thanks peeps!

Wait.....how did a 335 beat a 135? I just don't see that happening. Or are these informal times with random drivers and random conditions over a lengthy span of time? If so....then those posted times don't hold much validity.

A. Where are these times from?
B. Same driver?

I am a bit skeptical about those times as the 130i beat it (?) as well as the Golf R32 (?!)..Hmm....any more info people?

I read the article. Basically it says the 135i is FASTER than the Porsche in all out speed but that the Porsche can take the curves at a faster speed than the Bimmer. Does not mention the run-flats or anything like that though. Good baseline maybe but for sure the 135i CAN run faster than that.....at least I would think it could...we need the Stig.....

Agreed, I can't see there being that much difference between the 335 and 135 .. i would think the 135 would be a little faster on the track ..

^ Correct.

Edit:
There are also a few cases where not all of those times cover the same exact course. On page 2 of the thread those times came from they point out that the NSX time of 7:37 doesn't count the long straight at the beginning and the real lap time is over 8 minutes.

Different cars. Different days (over several years). Different drivers (not all pros). Different weather conditions. With different start & finish points for at least one of the times (though most were probably the same length of track)

If the times were rerecorded on the exact same length of track in similar conditions by drivers of similar skill the entire list would reorder itself.

Well I can tell you that my time was over 10 minutes from the time I left the cones to when I began braking to pull back in. Yes, I suck at the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Quantity over quality Why take 1 big juicy steak when you can get 53 white castles!

Why have an 8 minute time when you could enjoy 10+

The thing that I find interesting is usually (at least within the last half-decade) the manufacturers release a Nurburgring time, case in point: Camaro SS, Cobalt SS, ZR1, M3, M5, GT-R.....just that I could not find anything at all for the 135i...there was even a spy-shot of the 135 on the Ring back in July '07 I think...

true.. but, my point was, the 135 run could be done on a wet day or not been driven properly. Coz I tracked my car and it was amazing. I was only 1 second slower from my modified 350z and many seconds faster than stock Zs (which shows to be faster on the list!!). I also drove on the nurburgring and know that power over there does make a diffirence, the ring got plenty of streches.

It takes about 100 times around that track to even start to get to know it.

You never know who was driving that 1, so who cares!
