Retrofit Black Line tail lights

Hi Guys

Need some advice please.

I have a 2008 E82 135i and keen to get some Black Line tail lights. The only option my car currently has are the bi-xenon lights.

I am a bit confused at the moment as to whether the replacement Black Line's will fit straight on or do I need some other accessories?

According to Schmiedmann and one other e-bayer, I also require a Footwell Module and Retrofit Cable Set. Overall it will push the cost of getting the lights to over $700 ($900 with the e-bayer).

Other literature I have read stated I can just buy the lights and may need to recode the car?

Which is correct?

Appreciate feedback from anyone with my vintage of car that has installed the Black Lines and to gauge your experience?

Thanks

They'll fit straight on. I just put them on my 128i with xenons

you'll (as far as i'm aware) have to tap the LED bits to a switched 12v (like license plate lights) or something?

other than that, plug and play

though, it could just be for the E87 you have to do the LED bit for... or if you don't have xenon's? (any here can confirm because i'm not sure now haha)

It's 100% plug and play. I've done it twice, once on the E88 and once on the E82. No issues.

Haha my bad

Apparently it's only e87 non LCI to LCI then since there's no wire for the LED's (according to other threads)

Didnt mean to scare you

As stated, for the E82 it goes straight in. Flinchy is referring to the E87.

Took me about 20mins overall.
