17" Winter Wheels! What does Gill like?

I thought I might list a few of my favorite winter wheels for the upcoming season. People frequently ask me what wheels they should get, so here are a few of my favorites for the 1 series and why. (This is solely my opinion and opinions vary.)

The Sport Edition KM11 is back for 2013. The color is a near perfect match for a 35% tint and the tail pipes. It takes BMW center caps and has a concave design that looks great. This is the wheel I run for the winter. This will be the first wheel we sell out of, mark my words. Get them soon if you like them!!

The Sport Edition A8. New for this winter. Nice design, easy to keep clean, great price. It also takes the BMW caps. It's offered in Silver and Gunmetal (grey.)

The Sport Edition F10. Great value, easy to keep clean, slightly concave and takes BMW caps. Popular choice.

Anzio Turn. A new selection for 2013-2014. Available in Silver and Black.

If you buy this product, or any other, from the Tire Rack, remember to use the "Shop Now" link for TTR at the top of the page and reference Gill. Doing that gets 1addicts.com paid! If you call, call me direct (see signature.) There's no reason to wait on hold to talk to someone who knows as much about your vehicle as the F150 he drives. Call Gill, I'd love to help you.

Awesome, Gill - thanks for posting. I'm going with the KM11 for my black sapphire 135i coupe. I just left you a vm at work to discuss some winter packages.

+1 for the KM11!
I'm planning on getting these in 18" for my Z435is. I searched this rim like crazy to see how they would look and found plenty of you 1er fans sporting them a few years back. They really are a great looking rim. Hopefully they will look just as good on the Z as they do one the 1er.

MODA EB1 is 17x8 et35
Will the 35 offset fit the 128i without any rubbing? I'd like to use 235 tire front and back

Gill.. I purchased sport edition F10s from you last year and am considering using them on my wife's '11 328i this winter, would you recommend for spacers in order to run them on her 3?

Rims are Sport Edition F10, 17x8" et40, machined face on black, Dunlop wintersport 3d 225/45R17

Hey Gill,

We spoke on the phone the other day and somehow misplaced the tires that you also suggested. I believe they were blizzaks, but cant remember the actual tire size that you recommended.

No spacers needed for that.

205/50R17, 215/45R17 and 225/45R17 all work.

That's what I figured, might look a bit sunk in but that's acceptable for a winter setup. Thanks for the reply!

the skinnier the tire the better... I went with 225s and a "performance winter tire" instead of 205s or 215s in a studless snow tire because the midwest doesn't usually see too much snow. Not sure how it is where you are, or how quickly the city is able to clean up.

These Elbrus Wheels look pretty good! If I ever had the need to buy a winter setup in Sunny SoCal, these would probably be my first choice in 17's.

Nice recommendations!

Those look nice kja325ci^^

I decided to go with 18x8 ET40 Sport Edition KM11 and 225/40/18 winter tires. I'm going to run them on my lowered BSM 1er coupe - will be sure to post some pics after install. Thanks for the great service, Gill at Tire Rack.

Just saw this thread for the first time, I appreciate the list. Thanks -

Do you have offset info for these wheels as well? I'm sure they'll all fit or you wouldn't mention them, however knowing the offset would be helpful in choosing.
