Hey Gill,
Curious about TR's return policy/warranty. I know tire manufactuers may have their own policy, but if we order a winter rim/tire package now (Sept), but don't install on the car until early-to-mid Dec, and say the wheel isn't balanced correctly, what recourse do we have some 3 months later?

This is similar to the snowblower I purchased back in Aug, but obviously won't use until maybe Jan and if the thing is defective, the 90-day return policy has expired and I'm left shoveling

Thanks

We would have you get it rebalanced and pick up the tab for it. We understand that these won't get installed until later in the fall.

I was considering getting the black Motegi Racing wheels, since they're a fairly cheap way to see if I like the all black look before dropping serious cash on some Breytons. Anything I should be aware of with that?

Also, the Pirelli 240s treated me really well in Snowpocalypse, so I like them. I got the Dunlop 3Ds, but only had them on for 2 weeks before my car was killed, so I don't know how good they are. Any tips on a tire for a probably light but potentially catastrophic winter?

128 tire size

Hey Gill,

I have a 08 128i convertible non-sport. The current tires are 205/55R 16's. Can I put on 235/45 17's on my car? Didn't want to bother you with a phone call.

Thank you.
Mink

Mink,

That size does fit. Please never hesitate to call. It's almost always faster and more efficient. I'm a slow typer

KM-11's are running low! I doubt they'll be available when the calendar hits Thanksgiving.

Click on "Product Description" to reveal the offset, which is 40mm in this case.

Interesting, it's there in your link, but not in his link. Both seem to go to the same wheel but with completely different amounts of info.

Thanks for the lead -

OK, how does one do that?

I go to tire rack, search wheels, Sport Edition, click on KM11, and don't get the offset. Should be just that easy but apparently not...

thanks -

N/M, guessing once you get the car stuck in their system it spills the beans.

You have to select the car first, then pick the wheel after. It seems if you pick the wheel via the brand it won't give the car specific details.

Gill,

Do you guys sell this rim in 18x8 and 18x9 with the offsets to fit a 135i?

Got mine on yesterday. The Motegis I wanted were out of stock, so I went with some cheaper Sport Edition A7s. Looks pretty good so far. Hopefully I can give the Dunlop Winter Sport 3Ds a good test this year, unlike last year when my car was totaled 2 weeks after having them put on...

As I don't think I'll be able to find a good winter setup using my OEM wheels, I've started looking at 17" wheels. Thanks Gill for this post, very helpful. I just put together this table with a little bit more information. Can you confirm the info is correct? I wanted to check where the outside face of the wheel would end up in relation to OEM. I don't like wheels that look "sunk in".

Hopefully this is helpful to others as well.

hrmm tried pasting excel table with no luck. attached as image instead.

Gill, a couple questions for you relating to the Sparco Pista's.

What is the centerbore DIA?
I notice these require additional hardware for mounting. What is required?
Do the BMW Center caps fit in these wheels?

Gill,

I have a 2012 135i and will need tires for the Ohio winter. I have a set of winter tires/rims for my old 335, size 225/45 R17 (package as purchased from Tire Rack). Will these work on my 135??? They seem slightly larger but very close. Thanks for your help!!

Wheels & tires showed up just 2 business days after ordering from Gill! Granted, I do live in Indiana.. but still great service. Went with the Dunlop Wintersport 3D 225/45 17 on the Sport edition F10. Hopefully you can see the pics ( 1st time trying to put pics on this site ). I think it looks pretty respectable for winter setup
