Swapped out my summer wheels with my winter wheels. I waited until the last possible minute too, it was snowing at the time, lol.

I touched it nicely on the trunk as I walked by on the way to my winter beater. Hoping for some good weather soon to get it back out.

When they pulled the tire, the inner sidewall showed that there was cracked, so now the tire has to be replaced... Only after three months of ownership!

I think if it were a non-RFT, the sidewall wouldn't have cracked and all I would've needed was a patch for the nail... Groan.
I am late to respond to your post, but I think the issue you raise is important so want to jump in. IMHO the sidewalls on non-run flat tires, if you had had them, would have packed it in many, many miles ahead of the RFT's, possibly in a very spectacular way.

It happened to me. I noticed low pressure in my Acura, but was in a rush to get my daughter 80 miles to an airport to catch an overseas flight. So I put some air in and set out. Twenty minutes later i watched the tread speeding down the highway ahead of me, completely separated from the sidewalls. The last 60 miles were on the compact spare.

Sidewalls give out because of the greatly exaggerated flexing resulting from running with low tire pressure. In a run-flat tire, the sidewalls are stiffened to support the vehicle and to resist sidewall flexing when pressure is low (which is why the car has to have TMPS -- otherwise you might not notice the low pressure situation until the sidewall blows out).

I think the days of running a tire with a nail in it for any real distance with low pressure and then simply plugging the hole are gone -- most of the time the tire will need to be replaced. And, as you noted, sometimes the damage only shows up on the inside, so it is important to have the tire taken off the rim for inspection instead of plugging the tire on the car.

Uninstalled Cobb to take it in for service (bad bank 2 pre-cat o2..I think/hope). LOL'd hard at how much weaker it felt stock, guess that shouldn't be surprising, but it was odd to be dipping into 3.5k+ revs around town to find some good power. I'll hear about the damage tomorrow, if it's as I suspect it shouldn't be too $$. Famous last words.

You got to this before I could. His post exemplifies precisely why he SHOULD appreciate rft's.

got a call from my sa, if i dont remove my dci warranty is voided, he made no mention of the fmic but i suppose thats far less "shouty". Oh and for morning laughs, they estimated $275 to swap back the stock box. I think ill spend 20 minutes and do it myself guys.

right? esp seeing as how they made zero mention of my intercooler..my guess is an IC is more modest looking, the bms dci kinda scream "yes im power modding". Its OK though, if i remove it theyll do the warranty work. Ill provide an update tomorrow when the car goes back in w/ stock box.

After the big rainstorm earlier today, I was going to give the car a thorough washing and cleaning today, but it was too windy... Postponing it to tomorrow morning.

You guys are being duped, this has been argued time and time again.
A dealer can not "void" a warranty solely base on the addition of aftermarket accessories. They can only choose not to fix certain things if they can prove that the part was a direct cause of the failure that you are attempting to have them repair.

Wasn't just today but over the last couple of days...

Installed Scopione CF rear diffuser and front lip spoiler; Blackline LCI tails; BMW Performance stainless pedals.

In a week or so, TCK coilovers, M3 control arms, Dinan camber plates and new Hankook V12s (big and beefy) going on. I LOVE THIS CAR still after 2.5 years which is unheard of for me.

Car wash done, tires treated, and a sunny, warm day expected tomorrow.

A long, spirited drive is warranted.
