Exclamation Help! (SSK install )

Having a hard time pushing the rear bushing in! any tips?

I tried lubing it up, but it didn't help...
Can i remove the bracket?(#7) or are the metal tabs preventing it from being removed? Will I even have clearance to do so?

its # 5 going into #7 that I'm referring to.. please help!

hmm....staring at the diagram the opening(cut out) of the bushing (#5) needs to be pointed up toward the body...maybe that was my mistake?

is one side flat????? and one rounded?

additional question: Is shin etsu grease ok to use on shifter parts etc?
I am talking about the small white tube that is mainly used on window guides...or should I just use lithium grease?

I believe you can take off the bracket to make it easier. I was around when mine was installed but wasn't paying attention at that time. But I do not the tech who installed took off that bracket and didn't seen to have much trouble with it.

I can't help but laugh when I watch this video...

But this will give you guys some perspective when and if you decide to do the SSK install yourself:

Wish I could help. I had my dealer do the install when they told me they would only charge me one hour's labor rate.

In the end it took them two hours bc they had to drop the mid pipes to get better access to the shift linkage. They ate that extra hour and I agree'd to pay for new DP gaskets $40 more.

I would use a cv-joint/drive shaft (MsO2)grease or high temp lithium grease.

Lithium should be fine on plastic/rubber. That is the standard grease to be used here at Acura on any plastic parts.

Also, Shin Etsu is a brand, not a type of grease. Most likely lithium. That is our supplier of OEM lithium greases.

You are absolutely right...
Shin etsu is a company that makes several different types of lubrication products.
Their is a difference between the shin etsu grease (small white tube) for window rollers and rubber seals...
And the shin etsu high temp grease (comes in a white tub)

I winded up using super lube which I think should be fine?

Just when I thought I was in the clear
Fifth and sixth gear won't accurate properly and won't return to neutral like it should

Is it because of my lever being installed incorrectly?

Should it be oriented like in figure
A or B?

Front = front of vehicle
Forgive me in advance for the drawing (using phone)
