I really don't understand BMW's thinking here. The 2012 ActiveE obviously feeds into the pure-electric 2013 i3, but then they're developing the i8 as a plug-in hybrid (PiH). They seem to see PiH as a performance option and pure-electric as a daily driver, but that makes no sense in the American marketplace. I know the company is European, but they've always seemed to show such brilliance at understanding the American driver, so I don't understand why they're so far off the mark here. ActiveE/i3 should be PiH.

I'd be all for it, to act as a test owner and collect data to be used in the company's electric car development. Totaly!
Oh.....oh I have to PAY for the right to beta test an unfounded drivetrain? I HAVE TO PAY HOW MUCH A MONTH TO BETA TEST A DRIVETRAIN?  |
