To 135is owners ..

Is the BMW PE installed in the 135is with or with the y-pipe? If it's with, does the midpipe include the small cats or it it just straight pipe to the axleback?

dont quote me on this but i believe the 135is (n55) mid pipe has no cats only in the downpipe which is why n54 owners run n55 downpipes to remove the cats. so pretty much yea after the downpipe straight pipe to y pipe to PE

I think OP was referring to the rear resonator that the y-pipe in the performance exhaust replaces. All n55 mid pipes are catless, but still have a resonator in the rear. I don't know if the 135is comes without it. I do know that the n54 335is comes with the rear resonator.

A quick trip to any muffler shop and they will fab up a resonator delete if that's a problem.

Not sure why this is a 135is-specific question. The 135is has the same BMW performance exhaust as any other 135 with it, so however it normally comes is how it is on the 135is. How that is I have no clue. But it's just the normal N55 performance exhaust. Nothing special about it for "is" use if that helps.

Actually, I have a picture of my car up on a lift that may tell you what you need to know. See if this helps!

That pic confirms it, the 135is has the resonator delete y-pipe installed from the factory.

Woohoo! I helped. Though again, that's just how the PE will be on any N55 135. The 135is does not get its own special exhaust or anything like I believe the 335is did. It's just a normal N55 135 with the off the shelf BMW Performance Exhaust installed.

Is comes with no resonators. Its cat back straight pipe and the muffler after the axle. 135i N55s have just the mids and a different muffler. If you have an n54, then you will have to order the new pipe or make one.
