Help a fellow 1er out please! Lights!
Hey guys. I bought my 135i bout a month ago, currently at 1300kms. My DRLs (H7) has gone out.
I however left my car manual in one of my 3 bathrooms in my house and the mother must've recycled it. SO...how do I go abouts replacing the bulb? I purchased just a standard H7 for replacements...I'm looking for a friendly person to post the pages or instructions I need to get into the headlamp assembly/area. Oh, and if you can include the H8 too that would be uber. As I got some PIAA H8 for the rings PLEASE AND THANK YOU~! |

Sticky
There's a sticky on this forum with the manual. You might try that.

Just called 2 dealerships and both said that "normal wear and tear" items aren't covered under the bumper to bumper warranty...sigh
but BIG thanks for the pdf shot there. I'm gonna tackle that as soon as I'm done eating my lunch. |

hmmmm have you tried contacting BMWNA? Maybe its an U.S. thing but it should be covered. I would do some more research until doing it yourself.

BMW Canada excludes normal wear and tear items, including lights, brakes, clutches, wipers etc. etc. I'm sure they don't cover headlamps, although if the unit itself fails, then they would cover that. It would be intersting to find out if they cover the rear LED's - I have read on this forum that some owners in the US have had those replaced.
They try and upgrade you with a $1,200+ warranty to give the same coverage as BMW US gives as standard. |

Just got them replaced myself...guess it wasn't so bad.
This is my first BMW and knowing that my dealership won't replace my lights on a 1377km exactly on my car kind of irritated me. And yes, they did try to offer me the $1200 for wear and tear warranty. But I figured if I were to do any upgrades, or replacements, it would be aftermarket parts. I.E, drilled/slotted rotors, etc. |
