Did you add the sport package?

Shouldn't matter. 135 = black tips and 128 = chrome
If this is true, we shall burn BMW to the ground!

Could be wrong, but I thought the black tips were part of the M package. I know shadowline is.

When you order the m-sport package on the 135i cab you do not get shadowline trim on the windows. I had ordered a fully loaded 09 135i cab expecting to get the shadowline trim but I got the aluminum matte finish for all the window trim. Complained to BMW and there response was that the shadowline trim gets scratched from the convertible top closing on the trim. I even showed them the broucher that had a 135i cab with the shadowline trim with the m-sport package in the picture. However, I did get the tips in shadowline trim.
I don't like the aluminum trim on my cab especially since I've gotten the performance steering wheel, shifter and CF interior trim. I plan on getting the CF mirror covers, rear spoiler and diffuser but waiting to do the shadowline overlay on the trim first. I personally don't think the CF on the outside will look good with the aluminum trim. Just doen't flow. |

Not true. I have the sport package (not M-sport) and I have the black tips with shadowline exterior.

I've seen both when googling - some sport packages that have aluminum and some have the shadowline trim. I better get the shadowline on my black vert. Bmw's such a pita.

I guess the 09 verts just don't get shadowline trim. Maybe the exhaust tips are wrong, but whatever. The shadowline on my 08 vert didn't really get scratched up, there was a line where the top was, but that would happen with aluminum too.

This doesnt bother me at all. I have a perf exhaust and I really like the polished tips.
I made a pencil holder out of the old black chrome tips. |

The "shadowline" trim is ok, but doesn't add anything either. It's kind of boring, and the dark tips are hard to see. I'm not into chrome, but I'm not that into stealth either. I've got nice aluminum painted stock wheels with no other exterior parts to accent with them. The front kidney grill is silver, so why not the trim? Or, if they have shadow trim then they should continue the idea to the kidney grill as well, but they/BMW didn't. Just cause you give it a cool sounding name doesn't mean it's that special. |
