I'm looking at something to be on constantly and just writing over each time unless I want to save something.
It's not to replace a GoPro or anything like that, the use is more like that shown in the video. |

check out dx.com
There's 720p wide angle ones for about $40 with a screen.

Lol! @Nugget's link.
These are getting popular- when I was in HK, a lot of taxis had them- with and without screens. I guess if I were to have one, it'd have to be discreet. |

I love the bit at 1:13 where the guy tries to throw himself in front of the car, fails, then gets the shit kicked out of him.

Yeh, I'm tempted to get a dashcam.
Look up 'russian dash cam' videos for shit that gets recorded. Really useful for when you need a record of an accident. I think they record in 1minute loops, and when the G-force meter detects above a certain threshold, it will save the previous minute of video.

There are so many idiots on the road together with their attitude despite being in the wrong. I have now put in place a contour to record any incidents. Will make disputing their claim a lot easier unless of course you were in the wrong in which case it was ahem at home charging.

Wow talk about coincidence. I just received my black vue DR400 today from ebay. Going to install it on the weekend.
Features: 1080p GPS Motion detector G-sensor. The camera will continuously record over the memory (Micro-sd card) and keep any important events such as high G measurement (from crashes). When parked, it will turn on and record when it senses motion in front of the car. If you park for a long time, the camera will switch off completely once your battery voltage falls below a pre-set. The GPS allows you to see where your car has been and what happened while it was being driven (good for service, concierge) Read the reviews and they are pretty positive. Planning to hardwire it. |

Watch out. The minute I finished watching that Russian video my computer went ape shite.
A fake virus warning which is actually a registry virus. May be a coincidence. Just saying.

I have a Blackvue DR300G
It is only SD and 4:3 and if fine for recording actions of other drivers but is not high enough resolution to read number plates unless you are right behind someone. If you can afford it, get something that is 1080p HD. Race recall http://www.racerecall.com/cameras-by...49_127_96.html has some that are a bit cheaper than http://www.autoblackbox.com.au I need to hard wire mine so i can catch the bugger that keeps backing into my car and bending the number plate and scratching the bumper. |
