Not even 4500? You got some restraint.

Awesome!

I must say, I am pretty shocked to see 3 of 5 are black! Black is the most rare of the three. My dealer called me the other day just to tell me that lol.

They all look sooooo good! Congrats! I want to experience this!

Great write-up! My PCD is 12/16, and this thread is getting my worked up

I see three of you guys used the blue 3M tape. I'll probably do the same. Any regrets or tips, now that you've driven the cars back home with the tape on?

No regrets on the tape. Some flew off during the first 20 miles, so I had to do some mending. I would definitely recommend bringing a couple rolls. Also, try to avoid rain.

When using blue tape, definitely start back and work forward. You won't have as much issue with the tape blowing loose.

I'm kinda surprised the PCD has that many 1Ms given how few of them will be made overall. But how were those cars already on their 2nd clutch?!? Clutches are supposed to last around 100K miles, these cars are built to handle track use even if they're not intended for race use, and actually most tracks don't require you to shift much if at all. And presumably people who are interested in PCD can drive stick at least decently, so for cars that new to be on their second clutch and apparently already need a third kind of blows my mind.

The 1M they gave me was pretty disappointing. The front right tire scrapped rather loudly against the inner fender well when turning left. The car shook pretty good whenever getting on the brakes hard. And most annoyingly the clutched slipped badly shifting into 3rd gear. I just expected better from BMW regardless of how hard or how often these cars see the track.

Is it possible to do the Performance Center experience if you've already taken delivery of your car?

The tape worked well for me. We brought extra so we were able to do a bit of a cross-hatch on the high-impact areas so it held together without a problem.

I recommend getting the 2" and 3" if you can find it. The 3" works well for the bigger surfaces while the 2" is good for the finer detail.

Best of all, it took all of 15 minutes to take it off the next day and without a single smudge or blemish.

Was it VO? I had that same car at PCD. Only had issues with the rubbing though.

Sure was. I told the insructor guy about it so maybe they at least replaced the clutch disk and maybe changed out the rotors for ya. They were telling me the wheel rubbing issue was due to different tires. I never looked to see what was on the front though.

My PCD was on 11/10 so more than likely I used up the clutch and rotors for you LOL.

I did look and it was the tire rubbing on the liner, not to big of a deal and besides it wasnt my car.

The AW w/ the stripes wasn't too bad. The clutch slipped a little bit and I had trouble shifting to third under acceleration.

I was a bit worried till I actually got into my own car and realized that this is one of the sweetest shifting Bimmers ever.

sounds like you are totally overlooking the " not my car " factor.

so I want to add a quick question here.... anybody has any experience or know someone who used the colgan car bra for their drive back home. I read about it in the M3 forum but not a detailed review. My PCD on the m3 is in Feb and I have a long drive back to oklahoma and was looking at using the colgan car bra for the ride back till I can get the car clear bra'd with venture shield. Any input will be appreciated.......thankss.....
