I can't believe this but there is a CPO VO 1M available in Toronto for $46k now; extremely tempting!

Are you on rx7 club? I have a FC (I know not the same) and a 128i (definitely not a 1M) but both are modded and Ive lapped both.

The FC/FD feel like machines, mechanical and raw and real. The 1 is the car you take on road trips. It has cup holders and the shifter is on a linkage and clutch delay valve and plastic pedals.

I don't think a 1M will be a real upgrade if your fd is in good shape. Maybe go single if you haven't already. Have you looked at s2000s? Nsx? 911? Just wondering why a 1M ?

Don't get me wrong they're great cars but the FD is no slouch.

I have it's a wonderful car but what I'm discussing isn't flat out speed but more the way each car feels. The fd is on a throttle cable. The transmission is direct, no linkage. The drivetrain has a PowerPlant frame. The engine is smooth and the boost builds comfortably. For a everyday car the 1M is perfect. For a Sunday driver, I personally would choose the 7

Are you still using my 2 x 550cc FC injectors in your car?

Looking at 1M so I can enjoy the car year round and not have it hibernate every 6 months.
That and it's almost 20 yrs newer with warranty, drinks less gas and (maybe) have more reliable power.

Went back to stock motor in the FC. Running 550 low in all 4- Derek?!

I say get a 1M if that's your reasons bc it's better on gas, more reliable (just check the steering rack, some fail) and definitely more livable day in and day out. You're not losing any power either and it's still "special"

And the other guy, I know the 128i isn't an 1M and trust me if I could afford it id be driving a 1M lol (or maybe a e90 m3) did you consider that ??

Yup, it's me, still rocking the FD and hunting for a 1M. Don't want the M3, does not appeal to me at all.

Guess the CPO car was either sold or wasn't that great? Not much like in GTA I guess?

There is a BSM for sale here on the classified section for ~40k with 37kms. I would pick it up if I wasn't so emotionally attached to my 128i and the 1m deserves an owner with a garage of their own.

Drove a modded 1m yesterday, 500lbs of extra weight is really noticeable when throwing the car around.

Acceleration was good, but it didn't feel significantly faster than my FD.

Sitting in the 1M felt like I was in a tube and driving a tank. I really miss the FD sitting position.

Fit and finish was top notch, everything is so solid, makes the FD feel like a Pop can.

I am still on the fence with the 1M. It does capture most of the hooligan feel of the FD and seats 4 with warranty, but I don't get why Jeremy Clarkson and Chris Harris goes mental over this car.

I think it's because RELATIVE to the modern cars, it's got a more old, back-to-the-basics car feel. Compared my old 944 S2, I think the 944S2 provided better driving enjoyment. I'm guessing your RX7 also has the more direct feel of the road. However, compared to all newer cars south of $60k, the 1M definitely has one of the best raw driving enjoyment (ignoring crazy stripper cars like Ariel Atoms and etc.).

Clarkson and Harris have been reviewing and driving so many new cars, they probably found the 1M refreshing. Also, the 1M can still seat 4 and has a decent-sized boot for a coupe.

Fair enough ... I think I am ruined by the 90's jap super cars.

The search continues .....
