Which wires to tap for power to brow from angel eye?

I’ve looked and thus far haven’t found a diagram that’s detailed enough to show which wires to tap for the internal headlight run to the brow. I’d rather not modify my harness.

Would someone be so kind as to show me on these photos, one of the brow connector, the other of the angel eye power, which wires I splice together? I’d be extremely grateful. Cheers!

Looks like it's the right wire (black with stripe) on the H8 connector (looked at other H8 bulb connectors that are keyed. This side is always red) and the right most pin of the eyebrow connector is positive. I found that out by doing a diode test with a multimeter. This is for the driver's side. I'll see what the passenger side looks like when that light arrives.

I'll finish answering my own question with a photo. This is the passenger side. The striped wire on the RIGHT when the H8 bulb is plugged in is positive. The LED connector, when plugged in, the RIGHT wire is positive. This goes for both sides. Right on the H8, right on the LED connector, regardless of which side.

I wish someone would've said this instead of, "I used a multimeter and figured out which one it was." Well, I used one too, and here's the result.

How do you get the outside halo to be as bright as the inside halo?

I stopped playing the overpriced, "find a damned corner spot in your amazingly poorly designed-for-maintenance 135i light housing for our oversized resistor and pay an arm and a leg" super special custom BMW LED game and bought these amazingly bright LEDs - Better than anything I've used (Lux, mtech, eBay, etc.)

Here's a couple pics with Osram Cool Blue Boosts, the brows lit up, with the Cougar LEDs.

The Osram Cool Blue Boost Xenarcs are Xenons.

The Angel eye bulbs I linked to are LEDs. No halogen AEs get that bright/uniform.

Ahh ok-

Regarding the Osrams- do you find them an upgrade compared to OEM Xenon bulbs?

They're quite an upgrade. A little whiter, but not too white, but definitely brighter.

Nice find on the bulbs! Do you find they have any blue tones to them given they're rated at 6500K? I'm looking for a pure white output, something as close to the factory eyebrow LED if possible. The ones in my car are more blueish than I'd prefer. Curious to hear how these actually compare with the eyebrow or LUX color hues.

Actually, no. They're very white, but still not even as white as my Osram Cool Blue Boosts which only have a tinge of blue. I'd say the CBBs are closer to 5100k-5200k, Cougar LEDs are ~4750k and the OEM LEDs in the brows are about 4500k. At casual glance, they all look similar in color...and you don't wanna be staring at all of these lights too long. If my guesstimates are wrong, my differentials between them are not.

The cougars do flicker a bit when coming on and off, but for the quality of the light, the way it fills out the angel eyes, the lack of a huge ass ballast to place in the housing and get in the way, and the price - If one of these fails per year, I'm still better off replacing the pairs 4-5x than buying an mtech or Lux. Their light quality is seriously, seriously excellent. Try them and let me know what you think.

I'll order these and give it a shot. Well worth the $40 gamble as you said. I'm unsure what brand are in my car as the previous owner installed them but I'm not a fan. They're definitely more like 6500K, and completely mismatch the LED eyebrow and my xenons. And I'm talking even at a quick glance, the differences are too noticeable and bother me lol.

BTW if you have any other daytime pics I'd love to see them

I bought and installed the same bulbs as OP. He wasn't kidding - these are BRIGHT and actually fully light up the outer ring - better than any other LED I have seen. And there is zero blue, just a crisp white light that matches the stock eyebrows decently well (even though my pics show a bit of yellowing due to a filthy car lol). The compact design with a lack of external ballast is a bonus, too.

Thanks for the tip!

I might have to ditch my LUX in the M3 for these now.

Left: Amazon Cougar LEDs.
Right: Unknown brand previous LEDs which I thought did a good job until now.

They really do a good job filling out both rings, easy to install, quality color and match the eye brows almost perfectly, no huge damned ballast/resistor, and relatively cheap. Glad they worked out for you!

On a side note, nice ride on the left hand side of the picture.

My old man's chariot. '16 GTS with as much in options as my M3 is likely worth, lol.

Such an incredible chassis, I don't know why anyone even needs a GT3 when the Cayman/Boxster GTS are so rewarding to drive. It's truly in another league even vs. BMW M cars.

I hopped on the bandwagon since it was only $40 and I must agree, these are a steal! Much brighter than oem and super easy to install.

your brow doesn't match your angel eye though.. or at least it seems like it doesn't. Is this different IRL? what makes the Cougar lights superior than the Lux that have 8 LEDs? I am thinking about pulling the trigger as it has a couple favorable reviews (the Cougar LEDs on this thread)

It is different in person. The angle of the picture and the quality of the camera distort what you would actually see with your own eyes.

That being said, the brow is not 100% matched in person. It looks "good enough" to me since the brow is already much whiter than the OE angel eyes.

Here is another picture to compare to.
